I only compare it to action games because Square has turned the Final Fantasy games into action/adventure games.
I don’t consider a game to be an RPG unless it has a turn-based combat system where you select commands from a menu. If it doesn’t have that, then it’s an action game with RPG elements, but not a true RPG.
Agreed. If the same combat system were used for an action game like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta, it would be universally panned. But since FF7 Remake wears the banner of “RPG”, it’ll get a free pass from most people.

That would be neat. I just wouldn’t want them to use Link’s Awakening Remake’s art style. I didn’t find it appealing.

A Gamepass style subscription service with a reasonable price is the only thing that could potentially save Stadia.
I don’t think it needed an easy mode. I just think it needed a fun mode. Nothing about that game was enjoyable to me, and I’m a big Souls fan.
Dark Souls is not archaic. It’s the gold standard of the series despite any of it’s flaws.
Spurg said Dark Souls is the game of last gen. Bloodborne is current gen. Regardless, Dark Souls is the better game. But Bloodborne is also great.

I don’t think this console will have one single true exclusive in its entire lifespan.
“What determines generations?”
It’s not all that well defined what makes a console generation. I see it as a combination of power and time of release, but there are sometimes other factors. I personally see the Switch as an 8th gen console just like Wii U even though it was released 4.5 years later, mainly because of the small leap in power.
