gameplay is the key, not graphics or stories. Look at the most successful games and tell me Im wrong. Fortnite, league of legends, world of warcraft, tetris, mario, pokemon, minecraft, and only really gta looks good.

so let me get this straight, companies buying console exclusives is good even though they are locked to specific hardware... but exclusives to a single store on pc is bad? Can i not install any game from steam or epic store on the same pc?
vii was really good, but it also had 100 million dollars worth of marketing in the late 90s (which was unheard of). if it wasnt for that marketing it would probably just be another cult classic Japanese role playing game. Sony really took a chance marketing it like that for square, but it really paid off!
most of the final fantasy games are pretty linear with side quests.
Those weren’t as bad as something like far cry 3 was, I was still able to enjoy the souls games atleast.
