I suppose this is the 'hot' issue at the moment and we'll probably see several more of these articles before another issue pops up. So for now, every time I see an article relating to this trophy issue, I'm going to say the same thing;
It's not a big deal.
Much like at the end of Good Will Hunting 'It's not your fault' I'll keep saying this until you break down and weep in my arms. Because it's not a big deal. It's...
Very well said and a great blog.
When I watched that review I was thinking to myself was it a big deal? The fact I wasn't particularly bothered nor insulted by it, did that make me some sexist guy? Well, after watching the review from Sessler I asked my girlfriend what she thought about it. She basically shrugged and wasn't bothered. She isn't a stupid person or anything, she has strong beliefs and opinions, I just think she knows what is worth arguing and debatin...
I'm looking at it and he's saying 'it keeps it JUST inside a total context'. Why is it JUST inside though? It's obviously more violent to him because it's a woman. He does point out the lack of gender roles, which is true, but he's still saying that because it was a woman, it was barely acceptable to the series.
Think of some of the stuff you pull off in GoW 3, some of the violent stuff you do in that game and then consider those moments to what...
Is it true Santa Monica added the trophy in after feminists tried to force Santa Monica studio to remove female enemies from the game on the grounds of 'being sexist' and this was the developers way jokingly poking fun at them? I read a few user say this but couldn't find anywhere when Santa Monica have confirmed it.
Either way, I honestly don't see it as that big a-deal. It's tongue in cheek. What irked me more was Adam Sessler saying that the violence on...
I like my hack 'n slash games but God of War just hits the perfect note for me when it comes to killing things in gruesome ways.
Personally, I think the multiplayer looks crap though. It doesn't look enjoyable, like the tacked on multiplayer for the Assassins Creed games - whats the point? It will find a small following but I'll probably give it a go and never look at it again.
As for people having a whine about the negative points for the review...
"Only Gryffindor can retrieve the one ring from the sith and destroy it in the heart of MegaTron" - Link
GoW does them well because you're not bombarded with them. You don't have to use the QTE's on the smaller when the circle appears above their head and you can just mow through them if you like.
As for the boss fight, I just think how else could you possibly pull off the kind of things that happen in those games WITHOUT QTE's? You couldn't. You could just do without and just wail on the boss until its dead but God of War adds in the gory conclusion, which I...
But just because other companies have shown arrogance and have mis-judged their standing, does that mean we can't mention it now?
As the PS4 is the successor to the PS3, obviously people are going to look at the different aspects between the two and see how Sony's attitude at the start of this gen, and it's attitude for the next one, has significantly changed.
It's not insulting Sony. It's simply observing the differences and changes the c...
It's good to see Sony not marching in with sheer arrogance like it it did at the start of this gen. They basically created this powerful, difficult machine to work with and said 'There you go, deal with it'.
It seems now that arrogance has gone and they've worked on how they can improve and better themselves after the terrible PS3 launch.
I get that people that will want to purchase in the release window. The thrill of new tech is an allure many cannot resist. But I hardly think you're missing a year of gaming.
The way I see it, the launch titles rarely show the true potential of the new console and games released with the console can be hit or miss.
And if you only play Sony consoles, then the PS3 has hardly been forgotten about as there are still a good few years left in it's life-cy...
I wait with every new console. Give it a year or so, wait for more games to be released, fix any problems with the console itself and for the price to drop.
Ah I do love God of War. You know they're gonna be quality games. Looking forward to this.
Just look him up online and see how many games he's worked on in his career. Tired of these stupid fanboys jumping in to defend their precious console (that we've not even seen or is out yet!) when the guy just gave his opinion.
Yeah, why does Cliff Bleszinski's opinion matter? I mean, he's only worked in the industry for over 20 years! But what does he know, eh?
Seriously, the guys been making games since he was 17, he's worked on and hel...
I'd love to work at Valve but it's one of those places that require you to have 'skills'. I don't have many skills :(
Yes, yes I'm not that naive. I'm simply having a joke my friend, don't take it seriously.
At E3 this year after MS has shown their technical wonder of a machine that will be a social media games device thing, a surprise will happen.
The lights will go down.
The SEGA symbol will appear on screen.
A spokesperson from SEGA will step out holding a simple looking machine and hold it up for the audience to see.
"LOOK AT THIS, GAMES INDUSTRY" he'll bellow to a stunned audience "LOOK AT WHAT WE HAVE BRO...
Cheerful.
Nah the controller is fine. Small changes are good but the DuelShock has always been a fine controller. I just hope the triggers are improved.
Even though I'm not a huge fan of Capcom after some of the crap they pulled this gen, this video really impressed me. I liked the feel of it. Reminded me greatly of things like Demon's Souls. Deep Down COULD be a great dungeon crawler where you can give your gear to friends if you struggle with a boss or something. Looks interesting.
