Well it's a decent start compared to other tablets but not that great compared to consoles. I'm sure that after a few months there will be much better games.
Of course I really don't care because I already have steam. But the marketplace on windows 8 is quite good and I don't mind having both.
Also Hydro thunder and hydro thunder hurricane are two of my favorite games and I'm glad its coming out for windows 8, I wonder if they'll be ad...
looks great, and finally a zombie game where the zombies are actually smart enough to climb on the vehicle.
that is actually a really nice deal.
You should look at the unbelievable shaders mod for Minecraft with a decent texture pack. It may not make it look photo realistic but it does make it look close to a next gen game and very immersive.
Also I hope next gen they go back to the crazy and diverse environments from last gen.
I'm sorry gabe I have selective hearing, maybe if you said something about half life 3 I would bother listening >:|
Oh and if Gabe decides to make HL 3 a linux exclusive I would... well I'd just be very annoyed, even more annoyed than when EA made Battlefield 3 an origin only title.
the mod is amazing, it runs quite well on my PC and really shines during sunrise and sunset.
now we just need someone to port this over to C++ or similar so it runs half decent. Of course that may cause issues with mods and I doubt mojang would do that due to issues with linux and mac osx. But it would be nice to see a hobbiest do something of the sort.
I've stopped listening to him until I see something about HL3.
Also I stopped using linux because of all the driver issues I've had with it. I had it on my old laptop but on my new laptop it couldn't find any drivers for the wireless and also my trackpad was a mess. Then on my brothers old laptop it wouldn't even install so I tried installing windows 8 on that partition instead and it worked perfectly.
Heck I switched from linux to windows 8 b...
I think its more because they aren't developing per say. They just gave MS licencing rights and MS hired 4j studios to do the porting. Also I guess MS just has the deeper pockets and also I guess the 360 has a better demographic for the genre in their eyes though I may be wrong.
I just wish they could put the xbox version on PC when it catches up to the current PC version because C# is a much better language to code games in rather than Java. But that could bring issues t...
this game better not be another Duke Nukem...
actually HDD's have gotten more expensive this year due to the Thailand floods. A TB hdd used to cost about $40 now they cost $90. And it sucks.
I wonder what bungie will think if MS does buy Activision lol.
They leave MS and then join Activision which is then bought by MS.
I'm thinking that DayZ is the new Counter Strike in terms of impact and popularity.
I wonder if they have made any design changes after the popularity of DayZ.
I gotta say that DayZ might have started to bring back one thing that a lot of people missed, a challenge. And I wouldn't be surprised if Class 3 was going to always be difficult but I'm sure after DayZ the devs for Class3 are much more confident in their direction.
DayZ has a map that's about 300 square kilos this has 16, with less map size I hope that they have much more...
you won't get much seeing as how during steam sales the games go for about $5 sometimes. How much would trade in be after?
I don't know about Gaikai but the social networking aspect of Onlive is a big plus for MS and xbox live. What I am mainly referring to is the ability to see a live stream of your buddy's game almost instantly. However I do not know much of the other aspects so I may just be lying to myself. I need to do a bit more research on both before I come to a conclusion.
But the Geforce grid is a big plus for Gaikai.
I'm about to try out both so I can have a g...
does MS really need ONlive? I mean they already have there azure program which is quite good from what I've heard. So I guess they could just improve on that. But then again Onlive may have a large amount of patents that may benefit MS.
@dedicatedtogamers
No no, I meant windows 8 marketshare (laptops desktops tablets) and converting apps from windows 8 to WP8 will be much easier.
@nukeitall
well the didn't write the whole physics engine they just got the windows 7 one and converted that in 3 weeks.
Because windows phone 8 and windows 8 use the same kernel therefore apps barely even need to be ported, an app for windows 8 using native C or C++ will be able to run on a windows phone 8 device with little to no porting needed. It took Havok about 3 weeks to port most of their engine to windows phone 8 and 3 weeks may seem long but for porting a whole physics engine that is very impressive.
And windows 8 will have a very big market share when it releases and therefore a lot ...
sorry, I just had a brain fart lol, I was just used to the older models that used amd GPU's.
yeah especially how they already have the full Unreal 3 engine working on windows 8 RT (the one for ARM processors). And I believe most others devs have ported their engines to it as well. Like Unity and I think Havok already got their physics running on it as well as Windows Phone 8.
So now its up to the devs to make the games.
