It only drops a frame or 2 in the worst case scenario. The reason why there still is screen tearing is because graphics have gotten better. There would be no screen tearing if it just looked like alan wake. Or they could have used a dynamic resolution. But I think adaptive vsync was the better choice because it isn't an FPS.
Well I'd hate to burst your bubble but the article was updated and the adapter supports 8 controllers, that's twice as many as the 360 wireless controller adapter.
@green
some games like battlfield use more than two cores. Two cores are still used for DX11 but the others are used for things such as physics and other computations that don't need help from the GPU.
I have an FX8350 as well. Maybe after DX12 the fx chips might have a step up against the i5's in gaming, they already cost less.
yeah, the DirectX 11 updates will help with that a lot. DX11 has improvements over DX9/10 for multi core CPU's, it's not as amazing as DX12 or Mantle but it is still a substantial improvement over what they have now.
The two things that really impressed me were the textures and the level of detail. The textures looked great everywhere wether it be the ground around drake or the mountains in the distance, there textures just all blended together perfectly. In the distance the lighting and the water just looked breathtaking as well.
I really love the level design by having that giant mountain at the begin and later on to show the passage of time by the lighting and shadowing you see when yo...
They should just have master chief in all the vehicles instead. I think it would be more awesome at least.
@knightshade
Minecraft PC is essentially endless.
Developers need to focus more on modularity, so we can use these tools more easily.
My guess on how Halo 2 and 3 ports could be developed and released within one year of each other is because Halo 2 was already ported to x86 on PC and x86 is the same architecture in the xbox one. That probably saved a lot of compared to halo CE had to get a port from x86 to PowerPC on the 360). And with that extra time they started work on Halo 3 xbox one and with experience from Halo Anniversary's port from x86. Also Bungie stated in a vidoc for Halo Reach, that each new halo engine is ...
I don't get how hard it is to believe, it's how everyone used a computer back in the 80's and early 90's at work. You would have the company mainframe which each workers workstation was hooked up to. The workstation was your window to the mainframe and any work that couldn't be done on your computer was sent to the servers your company owned and was computed there.
An example would be working at pixar on toystory. People would layout scenes with just rough...
@TheGrimReaper
18 fps may look smooth but only if they have proper motion blur (better than the stuff in games), hence why a 24fps movie looks great but a game running at 24fps might not.
I would never want to play a game at 18fps though.
well, we already have flying buses.
With this comment, people go from graphics being more important to content being the most important.
Make up your minds people.
Besides the reason why it got great reviews was for game play, it is a FUN racing sim, why? because it has amazing driving physics (because it tries to be a sim) and the AI is crazy fun to drive against. Look at a video of forza 5 and show me another racing game with comparable AI because you won't find one at least until maybe ...
I really don't get why people are so concerned about there connections. WoW requires a stable connection same with league, war thunder, MAG, runescape, star citizen, planet side 2, the list goes on and on. Battlefield 4 also uses server side computing for the water.
The point is that if you are going to say the cloud is useless because it requires an internet connection... and by that logic all of these games I just listed are useless as well. Even though they have some o...
Sorry for the long comment but it isn't a pipe dream it is just something 'you' aren't capable of having, but I and hundreds of millions of others are capable of taking advantage of.
I have verizon fios I haven only had 2 issues with it in the past 5 years I've had them. I lose power more often than have internet issues and power is more important but I don't think of electricity as a failure. I get 50mb/s down and 20 up, my usual latency in Battlefiel...
4k looks better even on a 1080p monitor (just look at them textures). I am not surprised though because the witcher 2's ubersampling was essentially rendering the game at 4k and sampling it down to 1080p, giving the scene better AA and more accurate color.
I would love to see halo with ray tracing, it is just one of those games where a ton of particle effects flying around would look crazy. Add ray tracing to the equation and you have something that looks amazing.
I hope they get it to work well enough.
It kinda stinks that xbox one owners have to run it at 1408x792.
I will be playing it on 1920x1200 (pretty much 1080p just a different aspect ratio) on PC.
I feel really bad for those who only own a PS4 because they'll be running this game on 0x0 pixels.
the 5XX's as long as its is a 550 or better should be good for a while. Especially if it is a 560
Yeah but those physics, they remind me of that game stranglehold.
I'll be playing it on PC but the xbox one version looks like one of the best games this gen if you disregard the resolution
Also an occasional frame drop to 28 fps isn't going to ruin my experience. The only time I've had a problem with frame rate drops ruining my experience was playing dark souls 1 on PC before the 3rd party patch.
