I wouldn't be surprised, there were the time between xbox and 360 was 4 years and look at that leap. Now the time between 360 and the next xbox will be close to 9 years. Think of how much more powerful it can be.

Actually you might be confused, yes the game will use the reach engine for MP but they will have halo CE maps (at least most of them) they will just be able to work between reach and anniversary.

well technology advances quiet quickly all you have to do is look at xbox vs 360 graphics. Now you may still think that from gears to avatar is bigger than xbox to 360 but just look at how long it was in between those consoles. the xbox and 360 were released about 4 years apart if the next xbox is released in 2014 that will be 9 years apart. 9 years is nearly a decade and a lot of technological breakthroughs happen in 9 years.
well yeah because game developers are trying to squeeze more and more out of current consoles. If they move to a new console it will be much easier, they wouldn't have to worry about lack of memory or compromise on graphics as much. Developers will also not have to work as much on smoke and mirrors to make the game look nicer.

yeah i got a wp7 (lg quantum) for free in a raffle and I love it. It is currently unlocked so I use it as an MP3 player and play games on it like an ipod touch. I like everything about it except for the fact that I can't use MS points on it. So hopefully they'll add support for them soon. I can't wait until mago though and seeing as how I am do for a phone upgrade in october I may get a wp7 nokia.
oh and the budgets wouldn't be as high as avatar and development may not take as long as Avatar mainly because once an engine is developed everything else will be just the same as creating a game now. It may be even easier seeing as how games are becoming less and less of a pain to develop.
You know if the next xbox won't be out until 2013/2014 then I wouldn't be surprised if maybe graphene will be a more prominent material and if it will be used for the processors. If they are using graphene then I have no doubt they may get the processing power seeing as how what ibm has already been able to do with it is amazing.
64x anti Aliasing? why the hack would anyone need it, I barely see any difference between 4x and 8x when playing on my PC. Having that much aliasing would be one of the biggest wastes of processing power.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if A console manufacturer would be able to make their console be able to support amazing graphics as the likes of avatar. One reason why is that ATM it sin't hard to build a gaming rig for $500 that can max out any game on the market at 1...

Didn't MS already say that tablets should have more than a phone os. and that making one universal os is not always the best choice. The OS's may be similar for each platform but not the exact same. Besides an Xbox wouldn't use all the features of a desktop OS.
he has a point, but would the PS2 with vita and move be as affordable as the wii u? Also will the vita be able to have the game stream with low latency and next gen console graphics? I am sure we will have to wait on more though about the wii u's graphics but I do have a feeling the Wii U will be much more affordable.

Alright that's good seeing as how my friend was thinking of purchasing a PS3 and he only has 1 hdmi input on his TV (one of the first Panasonic flatpanal TV's) which is used for his cable box.
hopefully this won't affect games seeing as how they use blu ray discs. I doubt it though, this will probably be just for movies.
isn't thhat what evry console/tablet/handheld is? They are all your own personal computers you just don't have access to all parts of them like a normal desktop/laptop.
