You underestimate how hard it is to build an entire franchise and global business out of Pinball.
I never claimed they were of the same size of EA or Zynga, but you seem to think what they're doing is easy. It isn't
It's easy to say Zen Studios only does pinball games. You'd be wrong, but it's easy to say!
@Snookies - Not as yet, but I would be very surprised it it isn't - Nippon Ichi works a great deal on this franchise.
Compile Heart has announced three Hyperdimension games for the Vita. Not a port of this one sadly, but same universe, characters etc. :-)
I love when critics score down niche Japanese RPGs because they don't understand them.
Go back to your Call of Duty games kiddo.
Compile Heart are notoriously-bad at optimising its games for the PlayStation 3 hardware, despite producing games that don't exactly push it.
Agarest War's framerate literally crashes at times. When there's only 2D sprites on the screen.
But still, the games themselves more than make up for the lack of optimisation.
Yakuza isn't Sony. It's Sega.
I agree with you though. I love that series.
Oh this is awesome. I love Slitherine.
Square Enix published the first two and Nier. All "sub par" (in your opinion. I like the dark, bleak visual style).
Thanks for that Catoplepas - good to hear the team has stuck together. Fingers crossed this one is a big success.
So MarvelousAQL is making this game? I can't find any formal statement (not that I've looked too closely yet, I admit)
The team that developed Nier no longer exists.
And before the idiots start disagreeing with me. Cavia, the developer of the original Drakengard and Nier games, is no longer an independent studio. It was absorbed into parent company, MarvellousAQL.
So I really don't care if you disagree with me. If you say that the developers of Nier made this game you're factually wrong.
It's always easy to tell who has, and hasn't, read an article before commenting.
No one notice that it should be "sights" not "sites"?
No?
I agree that generally the gameplay was cleaned up for the better.
I personally found the setting and stories of the Arland games more engaging, but only just. As far as I'm concerned, GUST can do no wrong.
@BldyShdw yup, there's no crossover so you won't miss anything if you haven't played the Arland games.
But you should play the Arland games too.
It will be very shortly.
It's a JRPG fan's dream. :-)
Agreed. It's a pity that character wasn't given an AAA-budget, because I came away from Liberation really wanting more from her than I got.
It's good to see more critics are willing to give this series a better chance. From getting 5/10s and 6/10s it's now starting to get more reasonable scores from publications that don't think Call of Duty is the only way games can be made.
