i also want to know this. i'm not planning on getting a PS4 until sometime next year, but i'd still like to use this app if it works with PS3. it seems pretty handy.
*edit* i went to the app's page on the Google Play store, and it said this in the description:
"A Sony Entertainment Network account and PS4™ system are required to use all of this application's features."
looks like it doesn't work with PS3, or at b...
the sad part is that something like this is actually newsworthy. it shouldn't be newsworthy, it should be how people always act. unfortunately, however, they don't always act like these guys do. these guys set a good example, though.
just a clarification--Francis is not known as boogie. boogie is the youtuber (and he acts like a normal person), and Francis is the personality he adopts in some (but not all) of his videos. so, when you see a guy flipping out and raging, or talking in a funny voice and saying weird stuff, that's when he's playing the role as Francis.
@Foxtrot
many different people review games at ign, and their reviews are their own. some people like some games, other don't. their reasons will vary depending on each person and each game. ign's review scores reflect that.
they don't sit down at some board meeting and take a vote on review scores (and anyone who believes that needs to take off the tinfoil hat).
i'm guessing Knack will get average reviews at best, maybe below average reviews. it doesn't look too special, doesn't really look like it has much depth. i'm all for genuinely fun games, especially classic platformer style, but Knack just looks way too simple, easy, and shallow. 7 to 8 range in scores.
Killzone seems like it'll get average-to-good reviews. deep down, it's still just another first person shooter, which we already have too many of nowad...
it's funny, because when you look at it, in a weird way Microsoft almost deserves as much credit as Sony does for Sony's success. Sony is obviously doing things right, no question. but for the past few years, Microsoft has been doing so many things wrong that when Sony even does basic things that a console manufacturer should do, it gets much more attention than it should.
for example, here are some of the things Sony has been doing well:

looks like Hawlucha has a camel toe in the picture.
giant size? looks like it's built to actual scale.

assuming this chart is somewhat accurate, then that would mean (at the moment), the past two CoD titles have gone downhill in sales numbers.
if the Xbox One and PS4 versions fly off the shelves, however, that could definitely change things.
as it stands, this is music to my ears. this franchise either needs to die or undergo a seriou...
while i'm hesitant to turn this into a Sony vs Microsoft thing, it's hard to argue with a console that's $100 cheaper than its direct competitor, plus you get a free month of online, music, and $10 in the store. Sony really is going for the throat.
everything you listed is either taking current-gen stuff and slightly improving on it (graphics, controllers, etc), or adding things like live streaming and multitasking that have been available on PC for years.
there's no real innovation in these new consoles.
*edit* ok, i'll give you remote play. that does seem like innovation afaik. and it's a pretty cool feature.
we're at the point now where we need a new definition of what a video game is, and what it means to be a gamer. if you imagine the average gamer of the late 80's or early 90's, you're likely imagining someone a lot different than the average 'gamer' today.
likewise, games themselves are (or can be) vastly different than what we experienced decades ago, or even years ago. and this is less about the technology behind them, but rather the philosophy behin...
i'm interested in Wildstar, although it's optimism heavily laced with caution. i just don't have a lot of confidence in the MMO market, they're too mired in ancient mechanics and game design philosophies, and they cater to the masses too much instead of trying to take the games to the next level.
with that said, though, Wildstar seems like it could be pretty solid.
also, i have a question for anyone in the know about Star Citizen. how much of...
yeah, they make it sound like they're handling uranium or something. lol.
it would be nice if it was in space. because that would likely mean it's a new IP, which the industry needs more of. Uncharted and The Last of Us were amazing, but we don't need sequels. we need NEW franchises that continue to blow us away (like TLoU recently did).
my biggest complaint with their character creation system is that Argonians can have breasts (and apparently it's always been like that in TES). Argonians are reptiles--they don't breastfeed. which is the entire natural and evolutionary point of having breasts.
Blue Dragon is one of the best values (as far as hours played per dollar) that i've ever come across in any game. i bought it on amazon for a few bucks, and i spent over 100 hours on it. leveled up all my characters, maxed everything out, then beat it. sure, it was pretty by-the-numbers, like the article said, but i got more than my money's worth with it.
Little Big Planet always has awesome skins and level packs, and this one looks great too.
@Xsilver
how is it random to come into an article about a game on PS4 and PC and say he's going to play said game on PC? i mean...it's impossible to be any more on topic and less random than that. lol.
or is it that you're just hurt about what platform he chose to play it on?
i won't be excited until they confirm that they're using a 100% brand new engine built from the ground up. i'm tired of the clunky, stiff, and buggy engine they've been using for the past X number of years.
yes, Bethesdea's games are awesome, but they really need a new engine. their games are awesome in spite of their engine, not because of it.
