"The Order 1886 does look very impressive and it is one of the games I plan to get for my PS4 this year, but I do feel that it is yet another in a long line of Sony exclusives whose graphics are being over-hyped by the diehard fans of that console."

people did the same thing with Killzone 2. i remember when people were comparing its graphics to Crysis and acting like it was a serious comparison worth consideration. and then KZ2 came out and had visuals nowhere in th...

one doesn't. one just picks out one game in the entire PS3 library (probably a couple thousand games, maybe more), says that it does 120fps, and then acts like that refutes Ken's lie.

except said game (Super Stardust HD) never output 120fps for the player. it was, at best, 60fps per eye. and again, it was one game out of thousands, and the player never even saw 120fps.

one would have to be a sad and desperate fanboy to try and defend what Ken said, th...

144Hz G-Sync monitor is the dream. i finally got mine, and it's fully lived up to my expectations. great response time, 120fps, and no screen tearing.

back when i played all my PC games at 60fps, i used to say i could never go back to 30fps. but now, it's hard to even think about going back to 60fps. the difference is noticeable.

if you've watched Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist or Mortal Kombat: Legacy (especially the Scorpion/Sub Zero backstory episodes), you can see what happens when video game source material is done right.

honestly, if you consider Assassin's Fist a movie (and it pretty much is, just cut up into episodes), then it's by far the best video game movie ever made. it's fantastic, and i urge anyone here to watch it, even if you don't play SF and know nothing abo...

it makes me wonder if they really do live in their own little bubble. a bubble that doesn't let them see the same recycled mediocrity they spew out every year, with one or two minor tweaks/additions that makes them think they "reinvented the franchise." and then the mindless drones who HAVE to have the latest CoD every year on day one eat it up until they get tired of it and say it sucks, but then repeat the same process the next year when the newest version comes out.

Uncharted 2's cover was way better.

this is the truth, although most people will just see it as you bashing TW or CD:PR. changing difficulty levels or having permadeath doesn't change the fundamental design of the game. if the game isn't built from the ground up to be difficult, then slapping a higher difficulty level on them or doing something else artificial doesn't really change anything.

for example, Ninja Gaiden is a game that's built to be difficult. even on the lowest difficulty level, s...

think about the fact that this came out in 2007, and then think of what other PC and console games looked like at that time. it's simply stunning how advanced it was for its time, and how, like the title says, it's STILL one of the best looking PC games when you spice it up with mods.

we need more PC games like this that push the platform forward and shows what can really be done tech-wise. i don't know if there's been a game since Crysis 1 that's done tha...

is the 60fps lock just something they did for the beta, or are they planning to release the PC version this way?

as someone who just built a rig with 970 in SLI and a 144Hz G-Sync monitor, they can kindly go F themselves if it's the latter.

i don't watch Smite, but i play it and am on an unfortunate hiatus due to PC issues. i wish i could play some right now. :(

i even have the Archon Thanatos skin that came from this prize pool bonus.

i'm planning on building a new PC soon with 16GB of ram and GTX 970 SLI, so i'll be ready to go for this game.

i can't wait.

" I just can't get over how the Uncharted 3 picture looks. I always thought it was one of the best looking games, I guess that's what happens when you compare it to something new."

i know what you mean. i've gamed mostly on a high end PC for the past few years, but i've been having PC trouble lately. so today, i decided to load up the first Uncharted and play through it again. my first thought was, "holy crap, this game looks like trash." b...

this is why even though i really want to give it a try, i've been hesitant until there's a massive price drop (maybe down to $10 or so). the nemesis system sounds great, but i was really hoping for more of an open-world exploration style game.

i'm sure this game is great at what it does, i'm just not going to pay full price for what it does. especially since it sounds like something i'd beat once and move on from.

"Games have really come into their own as a narrative medium in the past decade or so"

actually, they haven't overall. they've been playing "hey Hollywood, look at me, i can tell stories too. watch me copy off you."

there are games here and there that break that mold (Half-Life, Journey, Metroid Prime, Dark Souls, Gone Home), but there are way too many games that just make you play for a while, then you get to watch a mini-movie, t...

GMG has Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for 50% off right now, plus if you're a member you probably got an email with another voucher for 22% off. so you could get it for about $24.
