and that sucks, but it's not relevant to gaming. Yamauchi, however, is very relevant to gaming and helped make Nintendo into the legendary brand that they are.
the difference, though, is that the Red Dead series doesn't have a history on PC, while Grand Theft Auto does. outside of handheld releases, every single Grand Theft Auto game ever released has made it to PC at some point. that doesn't automatically mean that GTAV will too, but i think that makes it a pretty safe bet.
the GTA franchise did NOT invent open world video games. they did not even "pretty much" invent them.

i feel weird because i'm not caught up in the GTA hype, so this isn't a big deal to me. i look at this the same way i look at past CoD launches (inb4 "but GTA is actually a great franchise", etc)--everybody goes crazy about it and rushes to midnight launches while the internet is overflowing with info about it. including countless 10/10 scores just like the last one. but i just see it as a good, sometimes great franchise, that's it. lol. i'll just wait a while, possi...
"To top it all off they complain (on their podcasts) about their community being a breading ground for hate and yet they post articles like this, which do nothing more than add to the fire."
it's not ign's fault that so many gamers are so immature that anything appearing negative about their console of choice or positive about their console's competitor sends them into a fanboy frenzy.
there's nothing wrong with discussing whether y...
any gamer that says they prefer high performance tech and doesn't game on a high end PC is either a major hypocrite or can't afford to put the money into it. the latter is understandable, but the former isn't.
It's nice to see that somebody on this site has a clue how multiplats are going to turn out next gen. Devs aren't going to waste time or money making one version look 0.1% better just to make fanboys happy. Don't get your hopes up.
@cleft5
he asked specifically for PS3 exclusives. Infamous Second Son is only on PS4, correct?
this is definitely a good thing, but it's interesting that we should finally get something that we should have had from the start. if i buy a physical game, i can lend it to friends, resell it, trade it in, etc. and i've been able to do that since time out of mind. it just shows how far behind laws and rights are that concern digital ownership.
but still...at least this is a step in the right direction.
it's not like the Metal Gear Solid franchise has ever represented ultra realism anyways. and that's far from a knock on MGS, because the franchise is awesome as a whole. it's just not trying to be realistic, which is fine. not every game has to be.
eh, this game looks like it has no depth to it. something that might have some charm for an hour before it wears off. definitely not something worthy of a day one purchase from what i've seen. i'd be happy if they'd show something that would make me change my mind, though.
you flat out say it sucked, then you tell people to get it? if it did suck, then why should anyone spend a single penny on it? who wants to play a game that sucks? lol.
that's still about 4.99 too much.
@john2 thanks for the info!
side question, but why does John from dsogaming always say "we" in his articles, like he has a full staff putting out content for the site? he's the only one putting content on the site. lol.
the reason the PS4's UI made the most improvements is because it had so much more to improve on. PS3's UI sucks. lol. slow, bland, and soulless.
i'm definitely liking the PS4 UI much more than the PS3's, though.
because everybody knows smoking a harmless plant that hurts no one is much worse than seeing a human being get violently murdered. i think those people who wanted to ban or heavily control any violence in video games realized they lost that fight (at least for the time being), so now they're moving on to something else they can nitpick.
you guys are looking at this too rationally. this isn't about which is the better deal or which will save you more money. i think this is more about Microsoft trying to align their brand with another brand.
take Call of Duty for example. most people know it's also on PS3, but CoD is still synonymous with Xbox 360 and XBL nowadays. this is because MS took steps to align themselves with the brand. so when your average person thinks, "hey, i want to get a console an...
i have no problem with social features in games or online services, just as long as you have the ability to turn them completely off so that they don't impact you. i don't want popups saying i should share something with friends, or a friend also plays the same game as me and i should invite him, or something asking if i want to tweet my progress or post it to facebook or youtube.
i also hope PSN on the PS4 has an invisible option for online status like XBL does. wit...
talk about a misleading title. the title states that the game "will" have these things, yet the article says,
"Also note the x64 reference, which means that the game will have support for 64 Bit memory. ie more then 4 GB of RAM, ie very high texture packs inbound, whether Vanilla or Mods we cant say. So you can easily expect 2k + texture packs in the future."
expecting 2k textures based on conjecture is not the same as it being a fact tha...
