That is why we have definitions. Simulation and videogame.
Last time I checked, (overall) it has not changed. Even though some think it has, they are vastley different in their design purpose. What you do with it is something else. I recall many a-times turning FA18 stike hornet into into an arcade like experience with in game modifiers, but as a whole it was a simulaton engine so it was still laced with tedius tasks just to get up in the air, stay in the air and land. Also, sims don&...
Some great use of tile sets in this game. And the time clock music...I can hear it now.
They even have a recoil/stock accessory for this bad boy. Good times ahead!
Funny how the protagonist turns into Anderson Cooper at the end.
Glad to see it get an overhaul. It deserves some notoriety for what it mimics so well.
"Art can never be games"
.... Head explodes
Then how the heck did the game get its visual and audial aesthetics? I can see the interface and even code that holds it all to gether as art (when it's really polished).
Much like an automobile. People don't seem to have issues calling a Dream Car a work of art or masterpiece. Interactive media has more artstic effort than a single canvas or sculpture. It just depends weather or not YOU ap...
Broussard is PART of the design team. One of MANY.
Not THE designer. As if Duke is the only title of contribution...geez.
Now, if anyone has more room to comment on game journalists and reviewers (apparently jobs placed on some special pedistal, knowing more about game design than actual designers), it is developers/designers. Talking about games and playing them do NOT bring the same appreciation and understanding of the construct.
So what? It's ...
Wowers. I'm dig'n the fact that this iPhone version is freakishly better than I was expecting (really freaking good). I recall countless hours with Carmageddon 1 and 2. Remember the crazy mods?
A great classic. No doubt many under the intended age played or experienced Conker in one form or another. Especially those whom saw the "before" (original kiddie) and "after" Conker (BFD). He's passable with smart kids with parental guidance, but yeah set a good example, not a cool setting (use logic).
My question is, if this article is supposed to be a seven year old's view point of the game, why is it not structured as such? In summary: "I...
Chiller always makes lists like these. I actually played the legit version at the old Pak Mann arcade in Pasadena. Rather underwhelming. It sat in a corner all lonely and saw little action. Was not such a big deal then, not sure why it is now. Gross yes, with its chunky pixelated goofiness as you shot happless victims, mice, bats and random objects with a crossbow. It got old quick.
Interesting list though, I enjoyed the cheekey as it went less serious and discussed some true...
Hmmm... A woman looking hot or displaying physical attributes equates to them being horny?
Someone let loose the virgin teenagers and the unexperienced.
Um.. how about women that actually display their libido? Mother Darling (House of the Dead overkill).
SIE works. The rest..not so much for this list and what it entails.
*Razer
Once I stumbled upon a oversized Razor Goliathus, I found my prayers were answered.
Love it for gaming and design.
If you buy into these, you deserve it. Might a well as take logic and toss it out the window.
Hmm. Bayonetta was interesting at the very least. The fighting, locations and enemies were a nice change of pace, but the characters were shallow, nonsensical and are never really fully explored. The music...ugh if I hear that map screen theme one more time...
I would mot mind a sequel, but it had better make big improvements over the first entry. If that means more time before release, so be it.
Pure logic and genuis being displayed in this thread. "Capcom treats it's employees bad", so let's protest, embargo, ban or better yet PIRATE. Hello? Do you know how Capcom's business model got so jacked in the fist place?...look to North America. And you think they are alone? Seriously?
Freak'n laymen.
Keeping Prince Tricky (Starfox Adventures) fed was more of a pain than FC2's malaria.
There were a few instances where the malaria kicked in at the worst times, but those unexpected ill-timed sicknesses made the game a bit more interesting. Just a bit though, as after the 6th underground mission, the game bassically awards you limitless mallaria pills. Having a limit of meds/pills would have made timing stratagy/managment a big part in the game (and at the same time would have di...
Investopia is not a good reference to use (investment and stocks). Speaking from experience, this is not true for all business models. I know, I worked for a couple fortune 500 Companies (as well as my own) and had to wait out on countless quarters to end and close for a multitude of reasons.
Let me guess, Snake goes back in time to relay out a message to the Japanese fleet before the strike on Pearl Harbor. Ground Zeroes!!!
PC too? Niiiiiiiiiiice!
One of the best written peices encompassing the artisan and creativity that are the lifeblood of gaming and interactive multimedia. Not one peep in the comments. That alone speaks worlds of the majority mind set on N4G.
"As genuine as possible". I believe that is what Goodrich said to some slack-jaw journalist that could not differentiate the definitions of 'real' and 'authentic'.
Too genuine for some apparently.
