Cant't tell the difference. lol.
You most be blind or stupid, Or both.
Just look where Microsofts 10,000+ job cuts are coming from. They have a smaller workforce of 90,000 and some of the cuts are in the games division as well.
Sony has over 180,000 workforce, so 15,000 don't seem that many. Games division is'nt affected.
7,000 job cuts were from 1 factory in france shutting that produced blank VHS tapes, which clearly had run it course. The market has moved on to DVD/Blu-rays, who the hell buys blank VHS tapes.
.
It's BS, two articles have already been published. One speculating about it and one denying it. So that pretty much covers the story. Both from better trusted sources. kotaku.com spreads nothing but bullsh!t.
kotaku.com is hardly a reliable source.

How many time can you change these too published articles.
PS3 is doing very well considering the price. PS3 Is selling faster than 360 did in it's first two years.
GiantEnemyLobster - Sony can aford a price cut, just Sony in business too make money. Price cut will follow, once all the production cost reduction's allow for it.
PS3 Cell & RSX production at 45nm starts Feb/Mar 09, which cuts even more costs off PS3 production costs. Meaning Sony will be near too breaking even or even making a profit, this year. So a cut l...
Most companies restructure from time to time. Getting rid of old production lines too make way for new lines/expansion, eg VHS to DVD/Blu-ray.
OS X & Win XP are far better than crappy Vista. MS just needs too cut out the bloatware, or make a stripped down version for gamers.
PSP 2 hardware will be based of PS3 hardware no doubt. Just like the PSP is PS2 hardware. It's far too early for PSP 2, PS3 hardware has'nt dropped in price/size enuff just yet.
PSP is basically a portable PS2. It's capable of PS2 graphics, even runs at the same speed as PS2(333Mhz)
It's not just Sony getting rid of staff. MS & EA are doing it too.
A gamer, more likey a pirate.
Sony will cancel PS3 the day 360 becomes reliable.
Hell will freeze over before 360 becomes reliable.
This has got to be the dumbest idea yet.
1. Take blu-ray drive out and PS3 can't play disc games.
2. Not everybody has internet,or can get internet.
I would rather see Sony add some form of built in memory solution as storage(few GB would be enuff). Then remove hard drive, have option's to upgrade too hard drive.
I expect Sony is shaking in there boots, not.
Yes, if nintendo had'nt screwed Sony over the 'Playstation' would'nt be around today.
It's still Dec 23rd so how is it delayed. Theres still 45 mins left of today.
Another cost reduction is expected Feb/Mar 2009 time when both Cell & RSX go to 45nm production. That should reduce PS3 production costs further by Summer 2009. Sony could be also be in profit by then. So I'm guessing a PS3 price cut may follow shortly after that. And a slim PS3 by Xmas 2009 priced at $299.
Think I'd perfer Panasonics 3D Blu-ray standard, as there's less cost involved.
