Think about it this way Sony publishes and PS3 recieves exclusive content in the form of the Blu-ray Anniversary Edition of Ghostbusters tie in. It's a classic film and a win win all round. Bonus if Sony end up publishing all formats.
Sony has gone on record and said that play.com is not the only place to pick up the U2 beta code. Play claiming it's exclusive is bull.
Best move would be too keep supporting XP, rather than force people to switch to another buggy OS.
Seriously doubt that would happen. Maybe a EA/Apple tie in for a new console. But never a Apple take over. Apple could'nt afford to buy out EA.

Service will be region locked for EU, just like the US Vid store is region locked for Americans. Probably due to Sony only obtaining distribution licences for the said regions rather than world wide.
I for one won't be buying one. Playstation 4 yes, 720 not a chance.
Downloading movies fast and cheaply, and of Blu-ray quality are a long way off, reason not everyone has a cheap fast internet connection, not everyone wants crappy quality downloadable Movies. Blu-ray is not going anywhere, Blu-ray will be around for years just like VHS, CD, DVD etc.
Still can't be worse than owning a 360, and not been able to use it at all because it's RROD/getting repaired. lol
Just they are also will to take a punt on small devs/startup devs. Which has it's risk, but it also has a chance of finding some gems. Or some tallented programmer/s.

Sony should implement a system like the PS3 has for PSN games, allow them to downloaded to two devices eg 1 PS3 & 1 psp. also add a self destruct if anyone trys to copy games too other devices other than the two registered ones.

BTW MS has'nt overcome anything, 360 still fails at an alarming rate.
MS is the one failing:
1. MS have failed too fix RROD(coutless times) lol
2. MS have failed by including dated DVD9 media lol
3. MS have failed by backing the wrong format in the HD format wars(HD-DVD RIP) lol
4. MS is failing too out sell PS3 by a huge margin(epic failure considering PS3's price point) lol
So Microsofts screws up yet another OS.
