Killzone 2 looks like it's set to refine already existing aspects of the FPS genre rather than drastically raise the bar. Graphics don't really mean as much to compared to the visceral gameplay and ballistic physics, which look incredible.
I disagree with people proclaiming this the Halo CE of this generation, for me that game is without comparison (on a console basis, Half Life 2 on PC is exceptional) and stands as one of the greatest games of all time. However, along with Crys...
Yes 'Xbox Street Gang' (possibly the most ridiculous user name I've yet to see on here by the way), because I'm sure the PS3 version will look so much better right, just like Soul Calibur 4? Oh wait...
Or just visit these sites on your computer instead?
Anyone who takes fighting games seriously gets an arcade stick.
After 4 comments, we get the idea, you hate Halo 3. Great, thanks and bye.
I am getting SOCOM when it's released over in the UK.
Blizzard are probably the best development team in the world if you ask me, every game is so polished and well balanced. 3 superb franchises in Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo, they deserve all the success they get.
I personally consider KZ2 a far superior achievement to GT5:P in terms of graphics. GT games look very static with little interaction compared to Killzone 2, I'm not criticising Gran Turismo one bit mind.
Lets see then

LA Noire looks interesting, as does ABP.
mt, proclaiming Resistance 2 as one of the best FPS games of 2008 does not do it adequate justice in my opinion, as 2008 was a poor year for shooters. Resistance 2 aside, Left 4 Dead, World at War and Crysis: Warhead were the only notable FPS games to be released last year.
but teh gfx!
You are quite right, in my opinion realistic physics often make a game world more believable than graphical fidelity.
Rate the comment people, not the user.
Excellent, thanks for the info, +bubbles for the two of you.
I was never lucky enough to enter the beta for this game, can anyone answer this question for me? I want to know if online play requires good teamwork and communication, I recently purchased a PS3 mic for resistance 2, but gave up on it as no one seems to use them, is it different with this game? As I'm a big fan of realistic shooters, where teamwork and correct application of tactics are necessary.
Sorry, my bad, of course Heavy Rain will own Alan Wake, not sure what I was thinking to say otherwise -_-.
I don't think there's much point in comparing Alan Wake to Heavy Rain. Information about Alan Wake is somewhat scarce, but based on the developers track record with the Max Payne games, I imagine it will be more action based than Heavy Rain, which if I'm honest, looks less and less appealing with each piece of news I hear regarding it. Heavy Rain has slipped down my list of wanted purchases, below KZ2 (that goes without saying mind ;)) and inFamous, as well as FFXIII.
Having acquired several Blu-ray films over the 'holiday' period, I can safely say Blu-ray is the future. Old films such as Full Metal Jacket and new films, Dark Knight & Casino Royale, all look superb and incredibly sharp. Anyone who remarks that Blu-ray doesn't look that much better than DVD needs to pop down to specsavers, as you clearly aren't set for HD.
Killzone 2 is without doubt a superb technical achievement, and the gameplay and physics look excellent too. This, along with Operation Flashpoint 2, is my most anticipated game of 2009.
Some of those games deserve to appear on that list, but I think some are missing, if Ensemble Studios pull of Halo Wars and make a strategy game from the ground up for a console with intuitive controls, I think that would be more deserving than another music game from Harmonix, much as I like the beatles.
