I remember this clearly. Xbox 360 had a hell of a head start with a very powerful console launched a whole year before PS3 and an awesome lineup with titles like Gears of War, Kameo, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Bioshock an others. Microsoft lost a big opportunity there by not acquiring such talented studios like Irrational Games and Bioware, which ultimately landed on EA and Take-Two, for their own disaster.
Two things prevented the 360 to win that generation in...
So you're basically saying that no PS5 games would be able to run on PS4... and this justifies the absense of upgrades. Are you aware how absurd this is?... I'd proably understand for some very specific games, but a console that's capable of running RDR2 and TLOU2 wouldn't be able to run Sackboy A Big Adventure?... hence, no upgrades for all 100+ million of you, since there's no game. I can't believe you guys actually support this.
...
It's a stupid term just because Microsoft uses it? (it's at the end of the trailer btw)
You should be grateful you're not paying for next gen upgrades on Xbox (or even PS) in many titles thanks to this initiative. The name itself is irrelevant, which is important is that Microsoft encouraged this consumer friendly change, whereas others didn't, not even for their own first party games.
Yes, a "Marketing Term" whose foundations are in Microsoft's initiative to ask devs not to charge for next gen upgraded, and led by their own example. Unlike others...
Do you guys realize that it was Microsoft who encouraged and promoted this initiative lead by the example?
They started with First party's Smart Delivery and publicly said this should be the way to go, exposing other developers. Now more and more devs are joining it... they don't want to look consumer unfriendly.
On the other hand, Sony explicitly said "it's up to the developers", without even suggesting it should be any different th...
Not only the visuals... the framerate and animations looked terribly unpolished. I have a minimal hope that Microsoft will show a Series X version (assuming this one isn't) on July 23rd or I will give this a pass.
Will need wait for more reviews. Wonder why IGN's so far above the media in Metacritic (currently 83)
For a new IP, 83 of media is pretty good though.
Wow 7/10 ... They're probably being too harsh on it.
83 in Metacritic isn't a bad average, but I honestly expected it to be above it.

It's a post processing effect that can provide a "vintage" feel.
The game seems to be inspired in Cuba of the 80s... so it makes sense to use this approach:

Very impressive. From the details on weapons to vegetation, shadows and ray-tracing.
It also looks like they've took special care in characters and storyline. FC6 has become by most anticipated Ubisoft game after their event.
"Smart Delivery" on PC. Well thought my friend 👍
BTW I've already Pre-ordered Horizon on Steam, so sorry to disappoint but I'm not that kind of guy.
It could have Avengers End Game - level visuals and I would give this one a pass. I'm not in for a walking simulator.
Has anyone noticed this in all 3 big Ubisoft games? (Watchdogs 3, FC6 and Valhalla)
"4K ultra HD on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X only" at the end of all trailers. 🤔

Now this does look like a game to show off the Series X graphics power.
Take a look at these shots:

It's an announcement AND and Interview with Kojima. Nothing to get hyped about.

You gotta give credit where it's due.

I have to say this fails to impress...
I'm tempted to think this is running on a One X at most.
Nice to see Ubisoft is supporting Smart Delivery in all the big games shown in their event: Far Cry 6, Valhalla and Watchdogs 3.
As for this game, I think its weak point used to be narrative but this trailer looks very appealing.
Far Cry's narrative always lacked substance. This one looks very interesting though. I just hope gameplay gets an overhaul as well.
Btw... also features Smart Delivery.
Nice. I'll be getting that soon.
