And Digital Foundry https://youtu.be/9BiQaRO2oc...
Ghost of Tsushima looks much more inspired. I think they made the right decision.
@Outside_ofthe_Box
I don't know what's your point on quoting me on that other thread. There's no contradiction on it.
Any HDMI 2.0 device can output 4K at 60fps... , BUT it's the developer's choice to aim at one framerate or the other, and Digital Foundry (not me) revealed the framerates certain company's game ran at.
@Drew345
To me, 120fps is like 8k gaming. I would probably not tell the difference between them, but damn sure I will tell the difference in visual fidelity.
30 vs 60fps is a whole different thing though. I think any PC gamer would instantaneously tell the difference between both, to the point that it's kind of frustrating going down from 60 to 30fps when you are really used to it.
Said this, it's not as crucial depending on the...
Actually, as more information surfaces things get more confusing. Unless I'm missing something, there's no proof or demo available on PS5 making extensive use of Machine Learning (and this Engineer comments might be the reason), whereas on XSX the implementation of ML-Based HDR injected into any Xbox One game via backwards compatibility is a clear (and awesome) showcase of this technology on the console, which does have dedicated hardware to it:
"We knew that m...
Wait... I've just realized they've given the "combat" section to Ghost of Tsushima ¿?
Combat is the best thing in Sekiro and it's a GOTY we're talking about. Combat in Sekiro is second to none.
Also, now that they really, really want to compare both, they should've also added "enemy variety", where Sekiro is leaps and bounds better.
I reiterate though, that these games aren't to be compa...
Don't get me wrong.
I.E. Hellblade 1 on One X has a "visuals (30fps)" and "performance(60fps)" mode whereas Gears 5 only has a 4K/60fps mode. From those, Gears 5 looks and feels better and both use the same engine.
What I'm saying here is that I'm convinced that 4K/60 as the primary and only focus is always better than a "Performance Mode @4K/60" as developers are forced to focus all their efforts into moving the...
Even mid-gen consoles can do 4K/60fps.
If he's a tech guy, he was probably referring to do it by including highly demanding assets at the same time. That's a whole different story.
Wish they focused all efforts on hitting 4K/60 instead of giving an "optional" performance mode.
Spider-Man is a game that benefits a lot from smooth gameplay.
I do believe Fable will be serious and story driven. The investment MS has made looking forward to this generation is unprecedent. They won't spend money and man work so aggressively (new hardware, studio acquisitions and newly founded studios, services) just to screw it up and give us more Crackdowns.
I firmly believe MS is betting very high on 1st party titles this time around.
Different games. Sekiro is relentless adrenaline, action and difficulty. While it has a good storyline it barely has any side missions and exploration. Sekiro is a Masterpiece on its class.
Comparing "leveling and customization" is plain absurd. Sekiro barely gives you any customization in terms of weapons or armors, and part of the beauty in the is exactly that. You don't upgrade by farming so you can go ahead and kill the most difficult enemies. In Sekiro it...
And it keeps growing. It's been consistently on the Top 3 on Steam since its launch on June 3rd.
I'm very glad to see RARE recovering - the hard way - from the long way of missteps they've done this generation.
He said that after the original post in NeoGAF. He is proving that he actually said that.
Obviously, he will try to minimize his words, but the fact still stands on that PS5 will lack Machine Learning, which is a huge feature of RDNA2 specification, present on XSX for example.
From Leonardi himself: "It is based on RDNA 2, but it has more features and, it seems to me, ONE LESS."
Update: It also means PS5 doesn't support VRS, Mesh Shading in addition to ML.
I wouldn't say someone actually "lied".
Cerny said it was a "custom RDNA2" chip... well... it looks that this "custom" approach is closer to the "Low End RDNA2" AMD revealed in their roadmap, as Machine Learning is vital for Ray Tracing and not every RDNA2 chip will support it:

Bravo! Awesome way to make us feel part of the show, and is we were on the showfloor.
You can take a hit in your profit and still be on blue numbers. If Xbox wasn't a Microsoft division they would probably out of business right now. The amount of investment needed from the corporation in order to overhaul the whole division, investigate on new technologies and acquire new studios was enormous.
I'm glad they did as we're in for a thrilling next generation.
Last minute RDNA2-ish? PS5 doing a PS3? Not my words:

Also, Cerny's "Custom RDNA 2" would be a very convenient wording if this ends up being true:

These are the kind of mistakes that cost you a 6+ year generation. Microsoft had the financial muscle to take the hit but they needed to fix it this generation or die in the water. Fortunately, they have in all aspects and July 23rd is building hype like never before on an Xbox event. They seem to have all pieces set and here's hoping games should be the goldenseal for a well prepared strategy.
Great discounts. "Suspicious" timing. In a positive way 😅
