No... just no...
@Omegasyde
"The 8 gig flash is a bit concerning as even the best quality flash drives have a limited read/write limit."
True, but it all depends on whether its SLC or MLC for how many read/writes it can take before the end of its life. Id also like to point out that every smart phone has flash storage as well, and most of those have yet to die from read/writes.
Pretty sure my android phone is writing to and reading from the flash memory sto...

"Sony fanboys can be pretty bad as well, but I haven't seen as many of them willfully ignore the facts and succumb to hearsay, conspiracy theory and full-on delusion in an attempt to justify their purchase."
Sure they have. Kinect spybox comes to mind. That is a conspiracy theory an full-on delusion that PS4 fanboys have been spouting to defend their purchase of a PS4 and convince others to do the same.
And if not to defend thei...
Your point is moot when considering the overall features Kinect can bring to the table. Its not explicitly locked to motion gaming controls. Small bonuses to gaming i.e. voice commands, switching controller options on the fly when handed to someone else, following head and body movement to adjusting the camera such as in racing games like Forza.
There are tons of small innovative things that developers can take advantage of Kinect for. Although I agree that motion controls wi...
Fair enough ;)
Im assuming that they combined the eSRAM and the CPU L1, L2, and L3 cache memory into one single number. Which would explain the weird single number they stated.
Seems a lot more feasible than a random increase to the eSRAM with some reserved for OS, or limiting the number due to fabrication issues.
@n4rc
Its okay man. Most of the hate these guys come up with they dont even understand themselves. I can guarantee you that 98% of all the people who post GPU specs (i.e. ROPs) or Teraflops have absolutely no idea what they are or how they correlate to the system architecture as a whole. These are just fanboys picking a few small pieces of information and spouting it as the end-all be-all of Xbox One without understanding how it all works.
And yes, in the end...
To be completely fair, most PCs nowadays have 8GB of DDR3 standard, as well as a Intel Corei3-i7. The memory may not be up to par, but games these days are not nearly as CPU dependent as they once were.
So if you already have a mid-level PC bought in the last 2 years, you wouldnt need to build a 500-600 PC. You could just spend that money on a GPU and better/more RAM. Now your decent PC is a beastly gaming PC. Granted its no custom "top the charts in benchmarks" PC...
Probably not. Trying to change hardware specs this late in the game would be nearly impossible since production is so close, if not already started. This was all planned before the first Xbox One announcement. The only feasible thing they can do at this point is software upgrades, which includes firmware. Just like the OC for the GPU.
While I agree with just about everything you have said. I feel like I have to point out that when they said Windows 8, they didnt mean the whole OS. You cant judge the OSes size based on the retail PC version of Windows 8 since they were referring to the kernel, not the whole OS.
To the sony fanboys who disagree that the cloud wasnt mentioned in the article. Hit "Read Full Story >>" then press Ctrl and F, then type "cloud".
Guess what, you wont find it... because it wasnt mentioned in the article.
Sometimes reading the comments on here are just depressing, but in a funny depressing kind of way.
Right clicking the bottom left of the screen may help you out a little bit.

Its not a set standard amount of RAM for the three kernels. There was never any evidence behind the 5GB for games and 3GB for the kernels. The hypervisor allows the console to free up RAM dynamically. As far as I know, the 3GB for the kernels rumor started after Sony and the whole 1GB of RAM for their FreeBSD based OS. Some Sony fanboy went "1GB for Sonys OS, and Xbox One has 3 OSes, so it must use 3GBs of RAM" Herp derpin all the way to the internets.
BTW... an OS...
@darkride66
No. What I believe is that Microsoft wouldn't want to ship an unfinished product to countries all around the world. Its not just the Xbox One OS that has to be translated. You are forgetting that the Kinect is bundled with the Xbox One and its voice commands are considered one of it's main selling points.
Voice input from different languages could definitely pose a problem, especially when certain areas have different dialects and small vocabulary ...
Im not saying a system doesn't exist that would curtail this kind of behavior. Just that no system would ever be perfect at trying to monitor its users. Misconduct from immature or angry people is always going to be a problem. As the current system stands, you can just delete any incoming messages and block the person sending them. One extra step required to never hear from them again. In the scenario you proposed, things would probably be better, but there would always be the possibility...
Its always nice to see troll brigade out in full force. Some of those are legitate reasons, just not most.
@GT67
Haha, opinion pieces and marketing your console is brainwashing... You know everything you said applies the same amount to Sony right?
Im seriously doubting you know what brainwashing or indoctrination really is.
Even if communications were set so you could only speak to people on your own team, these things would still happen. Ive had tons of messages from people that were playing on my side sending nasty messages about my round ending score.
There is no simple solution for these problems.
Yes, because people who game on the PS3 are just so much nicer... you are living in a fantasy world if you dont think this type of stuff happens on PSN to about the same degree.
No argument about the CoD statement though.
@CPTIN MITCHELL
They are both stupid. Fanboys are stupid, thats all there really is to it. Not stupid as in unintelligent, stupid as in blind to anyone elses interests other than their own.
