I'm picking it up today and I'll see for myself. Although I don't have a 360 to compare the loading times to.
That's a great point. And the load times in both games were way better than on the xbox and on the xbox 360.
Mark didn't say they aren't working on it. He is just stating they haven't announced anything to anyone after fans kept asking about it on the message boards.
I'm sure they want to get things worked out with MS over Unreal Tournament III first and get it out the door before they start releasing a new Gears that could hurt the sales of UT3 for the 360.
They better put that requires hard drive sticker on the box as well if you want to play online with mods.
Imagine that someone thought to put a high capacity optical disc and a standard hard drive into every sku. Just in case an ambitious developer needed one or both of them to make their ideal game come true.
If you want to cut your install times down you can always drop in a 7200rpm drive.
The article's tone is biased off the bat. IGN reviewed the game and said that load times were up to 3x's faster on the PS3. I'll take 22 minutes and go piss, make a sandwich, and grab a drink before I sit down to play. For having 3x's shorter in game load times but hey that's just me thinking logical.
Maybe Tosh didn't have the cash. Or maybe they decided to be fiscally responsible to their stockholders.
Unbelievable! Sony has some ENGINEERS!
Maybe another studio dropped them right before kickoff and they had to pull another CES.
You sure did call it Blow. Four days before Surfer Girl. Maybe she reads your blog.
That's HILARIOUS! Bill probably got pissed at customer service for not taking care of the guy and threatened to fire the whole lot if he got one more email from a disgruntled user.
The PS3 sells well in all three markets the 360 only sells well in one and a half (US and UK).
I think it might be too late this generation to change the perception of the 360 in eyes of the rest of the world.
The PS3 has four things
1. Instant name recognition because of the PS1 and PS2
2. Lower pricing that could go lower this year along with free online
3. Great high profile games on the way in MGS4 and FFXIII
...
Optical disks will be around for awhile.
1. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD disk are in 1080P downloadable services are in 720P. They also don't have the robust audio information that Hi Def disk carry.
2. The length of time it would take to download a hi-def movie is a big deterrent because of the bandwidth reservations in the US. If Time Warner cable is already trying to limit bandwidth consumption what future does down loadable movies have?
3. Hard drives ...
That looked fun. That video raised my interest again in this game.
Sounds cool. Sounds like a God of War game clone.
I didn't know that. They must have snuck that by Microsoft because I thought Robbie Bach said that they were going to strongly discourage developers from doing that.
I didn't know that as well kola. Thanks for the update.
Seems like Toshiba should of been the ones to do this deal first to try and save their format. This could end up being big for Sony and Blu-Ray if they start expanding the deal to other countries.
It doesn't say. The studios would probably frown upon that.
I agree. I don't think I could hunch over a low coffee table for hours just to draw my face.
Plus Microsoft's hardware record isn't the best in the business. I'd be pissed to drop down a couple of grand on an interactive coffee table only for it to Red Ring on me.
