Splitscreen online would be incredible. Since these are the COD guys, I'll keep my hopes up.

It's baffling that anyone disagreed with you. I'm in the exact same boat as you are, getting both consoles by years end. I'm so sick of hearing people go at each others throats. When I started reading gaming news, in anticipation of the next generation, I was DISGUSTED by what I saw.

No appreciation for the hobby, no respect for your fellow man... just projected hatred. I'm happy to say that I am nothing short of enamoured with both consoles. A new generation ...

No launch games? A ton of games are making use of Kinect in one way or another. Besides, I'm looking forward to how it integrates with the UI more than anything.

It's easy to pick apart when you've never tried it and you're a pessimist. Any reason to complain... what else is new?

If everyone but Canada get's a free game, I'm writing MS an angry letter.

It will go something like this:

"MS,

What's up, budday? So you don't appreciate your canadian customers, eh? How aboot that! I've got half a liter of maple syrup to come over there and give you a stern apologizing to, guy....."

Annnnnnd so on.

Oculus Rift is cool, and I would love to give it a try, but I feel like the tech isn't quite there yet, from what I've read. Plus I don't have a desktop PC, so I wouldn't have any use for it.

My happy place is in front of a big TV, surrounded by tower speakers, with controllers, consoles, and games littered all over the place. Also, more than a few smoking receptacles.

Yeah colecovision is still king.

Whether or not people around here want to admit it, MS has been mum on the details regarding its GPU setup, and the taped over potion of their chips at the hotchips conference is only further evidence of that.

It may not be a dGPU... but it's going to be SOMETHING. That's a lot of real estate that has gone completely unmentioned and as of yet unused. Tech junkies across the web seem to think that they know exactly what sits there...

We're going to...

"so good for you, at least you can feel better because youre not the only loser.

Because when i am with a group o friends i go out instead of playing games at a friends house.

Sausage fest.... "

This, my friends, is a prime example of a self-agrandized prick. And LOOK, people disproportionately agreed with him.

you're on a gaming website, making fun of someone who plays videogames with a group of friends? You...

OMG LAWLZ!

Wait a minute, that's not funny...

@shane

Not a miracle... who said that? What we do think is that it's better than no cloud processing at all. Much better, in fact. :)

Sorry, lol, didn't want to offend, had no idea you would be hangin around! Maybe my appraisal was a bit harsh, but I'm glad you amended it :) Split screen has been big for me this gen.

ciao

I was wondering the same thing. IGN Q&A...?

In any case, this will have applications in sports games, party games, and possibly indie games or unforeseeable concepts. It doesn't necessarily mean dividing the screen into eight blocks.

Also... "Though there aren’t many games on current-gen that locally support more than one player"

This guy clearly isn't a gamer. I play splitscreen all the time. Most of my favorite games ...

That's backward logic. The higher benchmark was 2ghz. If anything, they realized that their performance was well above expectations, and so they were able to push the hardware a little more without sacrificing too much heat or wattage.

MS has obviously been playing it conservative with estimates up to this point, so as to avoid heating issues. People who say otherwise are the same people begging for the console to fail.

I got a black slim 360 a year or 2 back, so I'll be hanging on to mine as long as it can hold itself together. Great times on that console.

Disagrees? My god... confirming my suspicions and validating my beliefs once again, N4G.

People at MS are human beings... and a silhouette is a silhouette. Give it a rest, it's just getting sad now.

I mean, it's been sad for a long time, but this is really sad. No respect for your fellow man.

Strange how people try and spin such a... relative issue.

Microsoft made a judgement call. Obviously the subject matter disturbed them enough that they didn't want to take the risk.

Personally, I hate it when movies exploit childhood innocence just for shock value. I'm not sure if that's what happens in heavy rain, but I can understand why MS reacted the way they did.

In the end, it's up to them. It slides right off my back......
