In about 10 to 15 years I can see this becoming a normal thing; solid state media. The whole DLC thing I don't think will ever take over as a replacement unless a huge amount of bandwidth needed to be free would be rather enormous to make it practical. I remember when it was more about the games and recently with the current HD consoles, it seems we have lost track of our gaming values. JoedAngel has the right idea; who cares about maxing out a system - it's about the games. Right now, the PS3 is getting some really good games and do I care if those titles are pushing the system to the max: nope. Do not get me wrong, I think that graphics are an important and all but it's not the whole package, just a part of it.

Something about this video didn't have the same quality as the N64 kid; no charm and nothing that showed that it had any spontaneity what so ever. If you look at it and compare with the N64 vid you will see a bit of a difference:

Bash bash bash, that's all the media seems to love to do. If it isn't Sony, it's someone else. Most of the modern media, including fox news, is about as biased as people can get. Instead of getting solid facts, they get enough to support their own brand of sensationalism. It is unfortunate that any company has to be a target for such stupidity.

I am in a similar boat and while I do save up for some of the larger purchases; they are few and far between. I was able to afford a 360 when I did because of the fact that I had gotten a bonus at my place of employment which was around $300 ($100 or so below what the asking price of the PS3) and I didn't get any games with it (I played demos and "Hexic HD") for a few weeks and got a budget title and since then have gotten some good titles.

I don't see SEGA coming back anytime in the near future; not with the state of economy and the state of the console market. With 3 consoles doing well in the market (4 if you count the PC); there is no room for them. I love them but they, as of right now, would just be blown away by the competition of Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. It doesn't help any that they released all there IP's on the other consoles; they would have to come up with a whole slew of amazing IP's just to even compete. ...
