Zelda's combat is the textbook definition of dumbed down. That's why the 3D games are so heavily designed around puzzle, exploration, and platforming elements. And also why most people have been (rightly) complaining about how mind-numbingly easy those games have been lately.

Given that Suda's released games on the PS2, the DS, the Wii, the 360, the PS3, and the Gamecube -- some of the most popular systems ever -- to more or less the same commercial results, this seems to be the most likely scenario.
When you decapitate an enemy in the original and 360 versions, there's a fountain of blood that sprays from their bodies.
When you do the same in the Euro and PS3 versions, the enemy explodes into black ash.

I don't mind Metroid so much, but Sin and Punishment... Good grief. Any gains from being distanced from Mario (which are going to be miniscule anyway) are going to be far outweighed by the harm to the interest in the title incurred from completely dіcking around with the release date.
Things that are far more important than HD or FPSes:
-Western release of Last Story.
-Western release of Xenoblade.
-Western release of Zangeki.
-US release of Disaster and Another Code R.
-And since I'm already operating in the realm of pure fantasy, especially with that last one, Nintendo publishing Tales of Graces in the West since Bamco is too incompetent to do it themselves.

Nintendo's practices have never exactly been what you'd call 'common'. Particularly in regards to third parties. On the rare occassions where they actually do reach those kinds of agreements with third parties, their spokespeople trumpet it from the mountaintops.

If it's sold well, by then people will have the dismal first week sales of some other game to point to as evidence of doom-n-gloom.
Remember that time some nobody regional manager in Capcom France proclaimed Darkside Chronicles a complete failure because it moved only like 10K its first week in France, and since then it's sold hundreds of thousands of units...

So far, it's only been confirmed for release in Japan. Ubisoft, who brought the Wii versions of both No More Heroes games, have said they have no plans to bring it to the US, and initial Japanese sales do not provide much hope in the way of optimism for another company to pick it up anytime soon.

Nintendo's released several new IPs this generation that have nothing to do with mini-games or fitness. The problem is that most of them don't come to the West.
