If it helps convince the developers to make a third one, I'm all for it.
Personally, I would say that Galaxy 2 is so far the best Mario platformer ever made -- but if 64 and Sunshine are your gold standard, I don't imagine you'll get much more enjoyment out of Galaxy 2 than you did in Galaxy. Those games were all about exploration and combing over each centimeter of each world for coins of varying color and finding stars in every nook and cranny.
But while 64 had something like 7 stars a level, Galaxy 2 will only have say two or three b...
It would take a lot longer than a month and a much more competent company than Ignition to fix all the things wrong with their localization.
Over 100 hours in, HR 32. Completed single-player and beat the Jhen Mohran online and decided to to take a break with some other games for a while -- at HR31 online basically becomes a new game+, with the same monsters with higher HP, stronger attacks, worse drop rates, and more stringent requirements for forging.
"To 10,000 GERMAN Gamers think DICE is #1. It's a .de site"
I don't follow. What does being German have to do with one's appreciation of game development?
If I didn't know what Xenoblade was, I would have assumed from the commercial that it was a sequel to PN03.
As much as I'm looking forward to this game, I too have some small reservations about it, like when Sakamoto gave that interview where he talked about wanting Samus to come off as 'beautiful' or whatever and how the most important part of the game for him would be to delve into her character and psyche.
I really don't need cutscenes explaining to me how blowing up Space Pirates makes Samus feel.
"He's mentioning good games"
Crash Bandicoot is not, and never was, a good game.
"fool" "butthurt" "chauvinistic pricks"
You can't criticize people for using ad hominem arguments, and then go on and attack them with ad hominem arguments.
Well, if you believe in the silly idea that the opinion of critics on games is at all reflective of some sort of objective quality and that opinions can be quantified by some sort of aggregate system, then you have to accept the rulings that systems like Metacritic and Gamerankings hand out.
Given how often some people throw around Metacritic scores as if those things actually mean something, you'd think they'd be more accepting of the idea that the game Metacritic...
I've apparently put in over 100 hours into the latest Monster Hunter. Does that count?
"Imagine, an GTA4 where the graphics are the same as for GTA:SA, the gameplay is the same, there is no online, there are large segments that are simply lifted from GTA:SA"
Wait, you want us to imagine a GTA4 that's actually *good*?
Wait, this is an actual game? I thought that all that stuff about Sonic colors on the Wii and DS meant that Sega was going to be partnering with Nintendo to release blue and white-themed systems. :/
"Maybe he actually liked the game"
I can't imagine that, given that the series in general is a laundry list of things he doesn't like. Difficult? Check. Multiplayer centric? Check. Significant online portion? Check. Ridiculously lengthy? Check. Non-intuitive controls? Check. MMO-style grinding and spreadsheets? Check. No story? Double-check.
Monster Hunter games aren't for everyone. You probably shouldn't expect him of all people...
"Besides, Rockstar have already been on the Wii with Manhunt 2."
That doesn't inspire much in the way of confidence.
Hey, remember that time when Bethesda said they were releasing a 'really big, adult' Wii game, and people were excited that Bethesda had reversed its stance on the system, and then that game was Wheelspin?

Because that was great.
Guys, guys, it just got an 8/10 from some guy at MSNBC. It was a good run, but now it's over. Let's pack it up, head home, and stop giving Metacritic unwarranted attention.
And rad only has three.
So, it's the best one?
Talk about low-hanging fruit. Maybe next week we can have a discussion of the worst games ever made and talk about ET and Custer's Last Stand and Superman 64.
"Most of those systems found shovelware galore when the console was on it's deathbed, not a new release."
You couldn't put more spin on that statement if you put it in a washing machine.
"The last NES games (IIRC) were Yoshi's cookie and Sesame Street."
Yes, and the first two years gave us such gems as Top Gun, Legend of Kage, Deadly Towers, Athena, Super Pitfall, Chubby Cherub, Burger Time, Mighty Bomb ...
