I think it's more useful for lower specced pcs rather than core i5 and i7s. I remember using a similar program back in my xp days and it does make a difference in performance.

It's an emerging technology. Sony has never been great with supporting it's console add ons but that doesn't mean it won't do well. It's more a matter of time to see if the VR fad will go anywhere or just fade away.
