Why is this a big deal??
You can't self publish on the Xbox without a publisher. This doesn't concern most gamers as most of them can't make games. Basically most developers get dev kits to make games on the Xbox for free. Nintendo gives unity licenses for free, Sony gives PS4's to developers with proven games for free. What is the point of this announcement??
think 3.5 is an unfair score for such a beautiful and well made game. Rather give it a 4 and the problems you meantioned about pathfinding are practically non existent since you can run on about 90% of surfaces.

I'd agree with this to a certain extent but only to the point that there are a lot of demos out there that don't really show the level of quality of the final product. The demo for the Last of Us showed barely a taste of what the main game had. While the God of War 3 demo really made me salivate for more. The God of War Ascension demo was pretty indicative of the quality of the final game meaning it was ok but not as good as the first three.
Yeah cept devs have already said that the PS4's dev was using 4 GB DDR5 instead of the final 8 gigs.

Basically it sounds like MS has a limited pipeline for data processing much like the PS3 did.

ps3 still has something similar to the family plan. Except you dont need to be in a family or be friends for 60 days to use it. If you're a PS plus member you'll notice that you have the option of full game trials. This is the same thing, you download the full game and you can play it for an hour before deciding if you want to buy it or not. The problem is downloading the game takes upto 5-10 hours. The issue is of trust. Even if they're trying to do the right thing now I just don't trust them. MS have shown they're mindset to gamers and there's just no guarantee that they'll listen in the future.
But yeah to those gamers who still want it, go ahead no complaints here.
So couple of things which you can verify with articles around the net if you want.
1) PS4 games looked miles better of anything the Xbox One showed off. The Dark Sorcerer tech demo showed off the PS4's is capable of delivering a photo-realistic experience. The best looking game at the Xbox booth was Metal Gear Solid 5 which is being made for current gen consoles. You could argue Titanfall but that's debatable because of the next point.

You're kidding yourself if you're thinking the Xbox One is future proof. Even the PS4 isn't future proof. Both consoles are going be ursurped by PC within 4 years. Xbox one even sooner since it has lower specs than the PS4. Cloud computing is at least 10 years away from becoming mainstream. I can accept that the next generation of consoles will live in the cloud but worldwide Internet speeds need to catch up to it first.
Demos for the Need for Speed Rivals and The Division were played using the PS4. The controller could clearly be seen during the demo in the players hands.
Mass Effect 3 wasn't a bad game and it wasn't a bad ending. That's not what the fans complained about. In any other game they wouldn't have cared.

It didn't rip off anything. It may have been influenced by the storyline but even that is a stretch. That's like saying Bram Stokers Dracula rips off the Bela Legosi original, oh wait the book came out first but the movie came later.. You can tell the PC version looks better than the PS3 one but its still impressive that a 7 year old console can pull off those visuals.
For now it looks like the PC version has better textures, better lighting effects, better particle effects.

Why am I confused exactly? \until they make an official announcement and release details all this is just speculative based on hearsay. It could just be another indie channel on Xbox live. There's no mention of advertising for indies or how the interface is going to be layered to allow players to find these games.
