Ugh.. really? I friggin enjoyed the last two and the third game in the series is exclusive to a friggin streaming service?
@BenRC01 and Thunder_G0d_Bane
Just because a game is free, it still doesn't give a company leeway to charge that amount of money for cosmetics. $20 is a bit much for a "micro" transaction. They shouldn't even be called microtransactions at this point. There's absolutely nothing micro about them. It seriously does not cost a company $20 to make a skin. Modders have been making them for years for free. $20 for like and expansion ala Witcher 3, that I can...
It's not just the $20-ish per skin either. You still gotta play the event for a chance to get the 24 items required to unlock the ability to purchase the stupid axe for $30. It's still not all of the skins and you can't even buy all of the Epic and Legendary skins either. They're on "rotation" every 3 days and there's only a week left in the event. This is the new strategy by greedy AAA developers. Make a game and release it without the initial microtransactions....
Of course there won't be any Loot Boxes. It'll be called something else like "Car Parts" or "Vehicle Cards" or something stupid like that.
Yep. In certain missions you can co-op but it's with random people. There's a mod on the PC version that allows full 3 people co-op with friends on certain missions. The mod author is looking into adding more mission to the mod.
Right? Capcom should add in a full co-op mode that scales difficulty when a player joins ala Monster Hunter World. That would require a lot of rework but would be cool if they did it.

So you're okay with paying more for your videogames or other electronics for that matter? Cuz that's what's gonna happen if this tax on import goods goes through. Who knows how much extra we're gonna be paying for these things if this goes through. That or if it's too high, Sony and Nintendo (maybe Microsoft) won't be selling their consoles to the United States because the taxes would make it too expensive to have them shipped to the US.
I didn't say most games. I said most AAA games. The majority of AAA games released in the past 6 years or so has some kind of grinding mechanic.
Personally, if the gameplay loop is enjoyable, then I don't mind the grind but if it isn't, it begins to feel like a chore to me. Mainly the reason why I stopped playing a lot of turn based RPGS. I don't have the time to invest in those kinds of games anymore like I used to.
Well then I guess the writer is done with most AAA games then because nearly every single one of them has some (or multiple) kind of grinding mechanics to varying extents. Or, you know, don't play the grindy ones like MMOs and online shooters/battle royale games if you don't wanna grind? It all comes down to if you enjoy the grind or not.
Exactly. Activision does this as well as Ubisoft and Bethesda. Microtransactions should have never existed in full priced/AAA games to start with, but thanks to greed and no regulation it's what we got and it ain't going away.
It's Activision. It's more like 300+ microtransactions.
I don't think Joe does the Rapid Fire Reviews anymore. Delrith does those. Though I'm pretty sure Joe would've tore the game a new one too.
Uhhh.... Sony acquired Gaikai back in 2012 (y'know, a company that has the infrastructure for game streaming), and they're using their infrastructure for PSNow. So tell me again how Sony doesn't have the infrastructure again?
Don't you mean passé? ...... Okay. I'll see myself out.
@Genkins & @FishTank
The thing is though, those games are exclusive to those launchers because they are first party games. Activision and Blizzard aren't going to allow their own internally funded IPs show up on other store fronts. That's the difference with their exclusives and Epic's exclusive situation. Instead of Epic funding and developing their own internal exlcusives, they spend their money buying up exclusives. That's ONE of the major gripes a to...
Exactly. That's my biggest gripe with Epic Games and their store right now.
@Gahl1k Pretty much. I doubt many people outside of Japan even knew what Final Fantasy was until 7.
Who says that that's what Sony's gonna have them do? They did have creative freedom when developing Spider-Man. In fact, it was INSOMNIAC that chose to do a Spider-Man game. I don't remember who said this specifically but INSOMNIAC were given a choice of any Marvel character they wanted to make a game out of and they chose Spider-Man. Sony's not going to force them to make annual iterations of a single series. If Sony did do that, you'd see an annual Uncharted, or Killzone...
