I set my ICT class the task of designing games for Move, they found it to be fairly straight forward when designing control schemes. Some of them wanted to design Kinect games so I let them. Every one of them was a boy aged 11-15, and every one of them tried to design Call of Duty. I asked them how would they fire, when Kinect has yet to prove on 360 at least, that it can accurately track individual fingers for a trigger pull.

While I was quite comfortable playing WoW with a keyboard I did long for a naviagtion controller esque analogue for movement. I too prefer shooters with a gamepad, even though I am well aware that I would be at a disadvantage to keyboard and mouse players.
Right or wrong, in others eyes, it's how I likes me gaming.

Max, he likely works in GAME. That's the kind of crap I used to hear when I was there. For example, a woman brought GTA 3 to the counter for her 6 year old. My colleague explained that it was an 18 rated game, and unlikely to be suitable.The coversation went like this.

Marquis, when teaching about psmove and augmented reality I always get the question from the students, so its a Wii then. I tell them its a Wii that works. They didn't get it til I convinced the school to buy one as a rewards scheme and teaching tool for that unit.
Next year when there's another budget I'm going to try and get a Wii and kinect, I'm not a fan of either of them personally, but its a good demonstration. Besides, I shouldn't force my preferenc...

Indeed, linear games have their place and when done well can be incredible. An open world sandbox is not conducive to tightly plotted narrative that is intended to be kept moving along swiftly. It is also not as capable in the set piece department. Having said that, some open world games are fantastic, its just about using the right delivery method for what you are trying to achieve.
indeed, Mario games are great games, but for me the wealth of content on offer means that LBP s**ts all over it.
