I have to disagree. Sony has define the PlayStation brand as a unique experience when playing games. These games may not look apart but they play differently compared to the competition.
This is why Nintendo rejected bringing original IPs to general formats. Mario and Little Big Planet for example, compliment the hardware and offers a different experience to play. This heightens the quality of the game.
However, incorporating a small element of original IPs i...
I'm getting the Vita when this game releases. I hoping it has crossplay with the PS3 versions. Just imagine all levels from the LBP 1 and 2 on the Vita!
True and also Skyrim. But Mass Effect will likely get attention to Fox news. I wouldn't be surprised if they posted a picture of COD instead of Mass effect.
On topic: Great to see gamers being able to talk about homosexuality without adolescent lesbo-drooling or inane buttsex jokes
Both unfortunately.
Many iOS games are not really games at all. Like I saw one "game" where it was you putting a s'more together.

And I heard there are thousands of fart apps in the game section. Those are rubbish.
Games like Angry Birds or Plant vs Zombies are not rubbish.
This video made my day.
Quick, someone call Fox news!
XBLA and PSN games have a few masterpieces like Braid and Limbo. But these games are short-lived so I see your point.
Analyst like Patcher usually state the obvious to stock holders that have no knowledge in what's going on.
A troll is somebody who asks a question or make a comment that is made SPECIFICALLY to piss people off and cause flamewars. Patcher may fall into this category but it's mostly investors that want answers to their stupid questions.
@Knight_Cid
Your absolutely right. I posted this article to show that Michael Patcher is just as down to earth as any other guy. You have to take his words lightly as possible and not go crazy over it. He's not the Nostradamus of gaming.
IMHO, I love the casual market for games. I use to hate it when "high brow" people compare video games as more of a toy for their little children. Now, they're the same people playing Farmville on FB.
The point I'm trying to make in this blog is game makers no longer need to make an effort to make games. They're either programmers trying to make easy money or a "well known" organization trying to spread their brand name through games. This is n...
I feel old too when writing this.
They should be doing what OnLive is doing. I can't see them profiting from physical formats but streaming can work very well. Just be aware that MS, Nintendo and Sony have that same power. Once broadband gets faster everywhere, it will happen.

"the real gems are few and far between" Could not be more true. I welcome casual games. They have a place in the industry. What I don't like is the abandonment of hardcore games because "that's not where the money is." So what if Vita succeeds or fails. At least it delivers games for people who love to game.
iOS is starting to match the success of the Wii. People will love it at first but soon, they'll abandon it. I've already heard many iPhone users at work saying, "I've played a game like (insert title here). Played plenty of those types of games to know it doesn't interest me at all."
Pretty soon, the general public will gain awareness about how many games are crap. There are even free games that many users will not give it a chance. Simply because th...
Agreed. Back then, oversaturation was just one component that lead to the crash. But today, oversaturation is a major concern. We are starting to see games looking too similar to each other. Here's proof:

Soooooooooo much doom and gloom articles.
Remember Blu-ray when people said there is no need for it because DVD are just fine. Same thing is happening for the Vita.
Look, gaming is not cheap. The PSP launch price was $249 (almost $300 in today's money). If you want to go cheaper, buy a 3ds or play touch screen games on your phone. Leave Vita the way it is. Sony wants the gaming industry to grow up and start playing real games on the go. We all want that....
I think journalist just ran out of ideas to write so they spew whatever is on their mind without any research.
To Scott Stein: Ummm....People bring Kindles on NYC subway along with their smartphones. The reason why is because the Kindle is better for reading on the go. Vita is better for gaming on the go. See the similarity. I mean c'mon, grow a brain.
Wow! Perfect score everywhere.
