Miyamoto is the godfather of Video Games. He got us out of the crash of '83. Unfortunately, he's getting old. The industry is growing fast and has already expanded further than his sphere of influence. Gamers are much more diverse than ever before.
I still respect Miyamoto's contribution to the gaming world but not as much as I did in the 1980's.
This is great news! 89 score on Metacritic! Finally have a reason to buy a PS4! Crossing my fingers for Far Cry 4.
Average life span of a console generation is 6 to 7 years. There is still more games coming out for last generation. It take years to make games now. I high doubt this generation will be shorter than last generation. However, I would not be surprised to see new systems out in 5 years. Especially Nintendo.
FEZ is a great game. It's a shame that Phil gets caught up in all of this negativity. I guess it's all the stress of making a game and he uses social media as an outlet to release his anger. There is a fine line between genius and madness.
PC version looks way better than the PS4 in terms of pixel quality but I have to agree with BattleTorn. The PS4 looks more "cinematic" as if it was shot by a movie camera while the PC is more like a 3D rendered movie. To be honest, still shots don't do justice for this comparison. We need to see it in motion.
As I got older, I see how much has changed in the video gaming industry with it's view towards the female gender. It's kind of getting better but has a long way to go.
I say, don't complain about unrealistic female characters with huge boobs wearing skimpy outfits. Why? Because it's "unrealistic." It's fantasy and borderline cartoonish. Same applies to male characters with beefy muscles.
On the flip side, if you want realism in ...
I thinks this has less to do about women. It's more of a discussion about realism in games and how designers approach realism in games.
If you bought a WWII shooter and you're playing a female character storming the beach of Normandy, you will lose the sense of realism. Even if you made the female character(s) look very real.
Now if we play a fictional/fantasy game but still want it to look and feel real, the game needs to have a realist approach to ...
Think of it this way, I own a large library of the DVD's and Bluray content. Now, those physical discs are collecting dust because Netflix and Hulu also have them and more. The convenience of streaming rendered the physical discs obsolete even though I can play them whenever I want. I have a feeling this PS Now service will do the same to my current gaming library.
I may be wrong because we have no idea what the price of this service is. The only competitor I can think of...
This bankruptcy talk has been going on for years. http://www.businessweek.com...
Just another doomy/gloomy speculation.
Agreed. This argument is the same as last gen:

"Insiders" ignore the fact that talented game developers make great games, not hardware specs.
I have a feeling the trackpad will be used mostly for complex menu navigation rather than gameplay controls. As a PC gamer, I can find many uses for it.
@zeal0us>> We all would like to own them all and play them all. But that is not reasonable in this economy.
So for those who HAVE to chose, just do yourself a favor and buy play the games that you want to play the most and stop reading and participating in comparing PC to consoles.
For those who think that one is BETTER than the other, you're living in a fantasy world. Sure they are different but they both compliment each other and compete with eac...
@Abriael I agree. This is another "apples to oranges" comparison. After reading this article, I think the author was making a point that just wasn't clear.
I think the point that was missing is that art direction goes a long way. It is just as important as graphic specs. In this case, Naughty Dog's artist used 7 year old hardware and still managed to make a game that looks incredible.
Sh!t. That stinks. Hope he gets another one that works. Hang in there fellow gamer.
Funny how the "master race" talks about hardware specs, modding, and free online but cry when GTA V doesn't come to there beloved PC until months later, or never.
No matter how you spin it, Crysis 3 is an "OK" game at best, even if you can run it at ultra settings at 4K resolution and 2 billion frames per second.
You may be the "master race" but your vastly becoming extinct by the popular markets of console's and tablets....
Well said zeal0us
Agreed. They do have a long history together. The Playstation's origins date back to 1988 where it was originally a joint project between Nintendo and Sony to create a CD-ROM for the Super Nintendo.
The gaming industry is very competitive. We have Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Steam, Apple, Andriod, etc. But losing one of these competitors is bad for all of us. I'm not a big fan of Nintendo but I was a big fan of Sega. I know that feeling when Sega dropped out of the hardware race, it's not good.
PS2 had many problems. One issue was so bad that Sony got sued because of it:

This happens to all electronic equipment. Back in 2008, my Samsung 32in LCD TV did not work on the first day. It cost $700 bucks but I got it replaced the next week. It sucks but it happens. What Sony should do is have back up PS4's to help ease these cases. At le...
It looks like the art direction changed in the retail version. The "Bullshot" pics look sharp and colorful but at the same time, they look really flat. The in game pics look better too me just not as sharp.
