it would because it allows players and developers more control options. How would you control something like a Psi Ops game (referenced because it was about the only game that required all the face and shoulder buttons at any given time). Unless Kinect can recognize AND the player can remember dozens of motions which can be accomplished by just pressing a button... and make it easier to play, why would you pay $150 for Kinect?
Which is a shame, as mentioned, only because they have at least 5 big IP that would easily leverage Kinect in Kameo, Banjo, Viva Pinata, Perfect Dark and Killer Instinct. I'd pass on them all (depending on how polished PD would be), if Lionhead shot Milo in the face and dumped Albion and returned to Black and White.
just remember that even if it "fails" meaning for games people find it pointless and will die with their controllers versus spending $150 for laggy, unsupported by AAA game me-too'ing of the competition for no other reason than to boost the sales of their not next generation clone of the current console which should have been Xbox 3.... breath... there's always the windows aftermarket. And it is MUCH bigger. The point would be debug the device on Xbox, get some into peoples ...
that jumps this vidwin to AWESOME! yeah she bangin'.
contractually obligated
or let there be DLC and sequels within our lifetimes...
well look what was allowed to happen to Rare, Lionhead, and what's happening to Crytek. Where's the bad momma euro Publishing giant to keep EA out? like 1C rofl.
yeah pity Australia is so far away and basically out of the game dev spotlight.. or we could make fun of them too.
Yeah if only EA would have left them alone.. Activision + Rare/Lionhead FTW, instead they are making kiddie games... so sad. I mean Just look how activision saved Bizarre.. :P mm blur.
exactly (@read Original thread post)(and @people being ignorant of how many industry leaders are in Canada, especially montreal), if it weren't for the fuckups at Silicon Knights (with the utmost respect, meaning they need to not overestimate hardware and software platforms, or that they have an audience for whatever they put out there) and Koei TO not releasing anything recently.. hint hint.. wink wink.. aww.. who am I kidding, no one else wants Fatal Inertia 2, 3D, open world....
it wasn't going to be cheaper.. it could be more useful (which games need a more precise/redesigned dpad?)
Not that the price bothers me, as it can and will become a pack in item.. can someone just please explain to me what all the excitement is with releasing new stuff piecemeal instead of dumping the old platform and releasing a new generation console already? A new dpad is the lest they could could do to the controller, while so much more went into the rest of the new console and yet it is still limited to the old hardware spec. Not to mention a new dpad doesn't fix how limited the thumbsti...
or toss in a pressure sensitive touch pad..
sorry wot, something good is happening?! pinch me!
even more fuel for them prototyping for a mobile platform.
That argument isn't applicable because iPhone IS a development platform. even if they don't dedicate a mobile gaming platform, why should they? They've got enough supporters on the dev and gaming side looking for games and revenue from their sales. Is iPhone only not a gaming console because it doesn't have buttons for controls? Should Apple or 3rd parties make jackets for the devices that include buttons and thumbsticks (yes)? but does the larger gaming public give a crap? no...
3DS HAS THE CAPABILITIES OF AN XBOX 360
Priceless. Now, if Microsoft can get off their fat asses, they actually could drop a mobile 360 amply capable of 3D to destroy 3DS at similar resolutions. What's lacking is more industry standard 3D displays. Give it time.
yeah saw it again recently and it is still not an appealing concept.
or has played games over the years that have more to offer
yeah, the licensing news was posted a while ago, but doesn't mean the engineers will build anything based on Arm's architecture. As long as they have IBM, and ARM to draw from they can try again to create processor circuitry in-house. I don't see it applying to a console, they'd probably be looking to make their mobile platform in-house.
$60+ since the new legacy controller is already $60.
