Maybe you have more time then other people to play all the shooters released so that the game can be judged on it's own merit.
I have responsibilities and a full time career. I don't have the luxury to play every shooter. I use reviews (just like I do when buying a car) to determine what game is worth my money and time.
I for one am happy that metacritic is around. It gives me an "over all" understanding on where the game lies with other ...
I think 2015 is too late.
MS will release the 720 during holiday season 2013 and Sony will release 2014 holiday season.
A 720 1 year head start is not a big deal if Sony doesn't release a $600 beast that is hard to develop for.
We have to remember here that Sony fell behind MS not because of the 1 year head start. It was because of the $600 price tag with a small game selection at launch.

The gears of war franchise is overall higher rated then the Uncharted franchise stated by the industry.
The gears of war franchise has sold more then the Uncharted franchise as voted by the gaming community.
I own both franchises and I prefer the gears franchise over the uncharted franchise....
If you enjoy the uncharted franchise over the gears franchise then that is simply your preference....but your opinion is far from fact and clearly you...

I agree. 1 year is to short. The other gams I can understand since 08 is almost 5 years ago and as for their NHL title....well EA took them out of that genre with EA's NHL series.
Shutting down the servers is going to reduce their overhead costs so I see why as a business standpoint. I read that 2k won't be doing MLB titles anymore as well so expect MLB 2k12's servers to shut down in the year to come.

Those titles you just listed are also the highest selling franchises on the PS3 as well.
So NO, I wouldn't agree with you. Racers have taken a back seat to FPS as the "IN" genre.
GT5 has a large following, as well as there has only been 1 full GT retail game released this gen, so if you wanted a GT game this gen, there was only 1 to choose from. When it comes to the 360, you have 4 different Forza games to choose ...

I agree. Halo 5 on next gen tech will be of a much grander scale. The chief is home and ready to be debriefed. I expect the whole UNSC fleet to start moving close the the forerunners worlds again.

Well there are a couple ways to look at this.
Regardless of how well or poorly each Forza sold, bottom line is that each Forza released this gen combined has generated MS a lot of revenue.
So, from an economical standpoint, MS are the ones laughing to the bank.
Now from a critical standpoint. Not a single Forza title by Turn 10 has rated lower than a 9/10. Each Forza improves on the last on every aspect. So whether you are a hardcore Forza...

Console sales are VERY important to 3rd party developers as well as Gamers.
Developers won't waste their resources developing for a console that has a small market share since the developers won't make back the money they put into making the game.
The larger the install base, the greater the chances of hitting more potential consumers, thus making a larger return on the game.

My Samsung Galaxy 3 is the only handheld I've taken anywhere with me since the original Gameboy.
I am enjoying the games on that then any other handheld and aside from that, I get a lot of games for free.
Well Darkride66, I guess selling out and being out of stock is a better then not selling at all and the shelves are packed with 360's regardless of the amount of units that has been sold.
