Gears of War Judgement looked better to me then The Last of Us. Actually that trailer looked better to me then anything announced.
I also thought that The Last of Us looked like it's been downgraded visually then when we saw the first announcement.
Actually, I thought that Tomb Raider looked better then The Last of Us.
Don't even get me started about Beyond's mediocrity gameplay mechanics that we saw.
At this point it doesn't really matter who is in the lead.
The next gen already started with the release of the Wii U so this gen which is now actually last gen was won by Nintendo and MS came in 2nd with a close 3rd by Sony.

LO may not have broken the FF mold from earlier years, but it has by far a much more mature tone to it compared to FF titles as well as the timing system to get that little extra increase in attack.
Mistwalker created a more engaging combat system. Normally in FF you would select the attack and watch the character attack. In LO you select attack and you got this mini game which kept you in the action instead of just sitting...
