Why would anyone be jealous about a 1.5 gb patch to the OS so that downloading can b done in the background?
If he only had a 360 and was hooked up to xbl....I assure you he wouldn't be jealous. XBL already allows for background downloads and doesn't need a 1.5 gb patch.

Due to the control mechanics/feel, friends and Achievements, I will be purchasing GTA5 on the 360 like I did with GTA4.

I live in Toronto as well and it's true we just don't see these things happening here. However we also have to take into account that the stats population is 10x as large as Canada's. the more people you have the greater the chances of having a sick individual like this.

As for cross game chat, it only a minor feature for you, but is a major feature to anyone that actually likes to be apart of a community while playing. SWEET. I LOVE using my Kinect for Skyrim and ME3. I am looking forward to using it in Dead Space 3.

I use cross game chat/party chat constantly. It's the most used feature I use. The 2nd is the unified game invite system which pretty much goes hand in hand with cross game chat. I would be playing a game and talk to a fellow NHL league player at the same time. Then accept a game invite from him when my game was done, which I would tell him through party chat or he could just hit the xbox button and see under my profile. If someone HAS a netflix account, then they can still watch it on the platform they originally bought Netflix to watch on. Therefore they don't NEED to pay $60 for a gold membership just to watch netflix on.

Less time making exclusives and more time put into them could have resulted in better exclusives = more sales for an exclusive franchise.

When are people going to learn that you pay a monthly subscription for XBL primary functions which is a robust and unified online service to play games on within a strong community.
When the 360 launched all these apps like netflix wasn't available. They came AFTER. Apps like netflix are not charged. They are now just apart of what is the bigger picture.

I disagree. Of the many games released in a year and prior year not to mention the high caliber of games that Gears 3 goes up against, #17 on a list of 20 when the list is hundreds of games long is actually pretty high. Also take into account the number of CoD titles and the high profile exclusives like the Halo's. It's nice to even see the latest Forza's on that list (Forza 4 and Horizon).

Truth be told, it will not just be about the games but also the unique gaming experience and features each console brings and so far it looks to be MS based on what we have seen this gen.
Sorry man. It's just the times we live in. As consoles become more and more advanced....so do the games, even if they seem generic.
The PS2 era was the best era for the type of games you are interested in.
Maybe console gaming is just not your thing anymore? Maybe ios games or android games might be more up your ally then. Or just stick to playing PS2 titles, however that might get boring after awhile without any kind of new games coming out for it....
Won't need to sell well. Developers are putting it onto the PC as well where it most likely will sell well...if not pirated to death.
At least the devs will know that it will sell on the 720 if it's a launch title since the 720 won't be hacked by then at launch, and just like all launch titles on new consoles, they generally sell well since the amount of games available at launch are very slim with little competition. Wait so I am confused.
With PS+ which is a paid subscription, I can download patches and upgrades in the background where if I wasn't a paid subscriber to PS+ I would still obviously get to download upgrades and patches but just not in the background.
I'm sorry but if I do have this correct, this feature should be standard across the board and not to people who pay. This is not a privilege service feature.
