THQ and JoWood aare on my personal "never ever buy any game they release" list. Toi many times each company f*cked customers by premature releases of alpha level software. Anyone still remember "Soldner" ? game released, and a day after goint to the shops it needed a 600MB sized patch cause it crashed all the time. It shipped on CD, so they could have shipped a new CD instead. Even after multiple patches the game was not stable enough to play for longer than 20 minutes. Or...

I use the PS3-Remote for that, as i also didn't like the fact that you can't shut off the sixaxis in remote play

Just a small correction: PS3 was released in NOVEMBER 2006 in Jpn and US. Logic suggests that X-Mass is in December and logic also suggests that December is after November. Therefor the PS3 will see its 2nd X-Mass in the two most important regions this winter, not the first.

On Topic: As some people still fail to get Sonys Firmware naming scheme i'll post it again for your education:

The Firmwares are named after a simple scheme:

x.yz

x. = mayor releases, huge added features considered new versions
y = minor releases, small additions to existing parts, some bugfixes
z = bugfix release, small updates to fix found bugs in a minor release

so 1.8 was a minor release, adding some stuff. 1.81 wa...

It seems to me you mixed up the 360 with the PS3 for your part 3.
PSN has dedicated servers, Xbox-Live uses peer2peer networking for online games. But good luck on your other minority claims.

What Sony announced was that battery efficiency is better and the capacity for the new battery is lower cause of that, so with a much smaller battery they reach the same runtime(1200mAh vs. 1800mAh).

And the truth is, its just exactly that. Sometimes i wonder why editors feel the need to put "lie" in every article about a Sony product even when the official press release stated their "uncovered truth" in the beginning.

I stopped reading your comment when you wrote PS3 has no million selling games, as clearly RfoM and Motorstorm are ... I don't have time to read bs comments :p

"What's to stop a company from creating a FREE account and try to sucker you in to going to their ad stand through an avatar?"

The fact that you need a PS3 running to go into home and have an avatar walking around?
The fact that Sony can ban PS3 hardware from there, if a number of complaints have been filed?

Abuse could lead to your company loosing the Home space permanently, who is gonna risk that by using shady abusive advertising schemes that ...

on Topic:

wanting is not getting ...

Why would it not be profitable to loose exclusivity ..
From the marketing view exclusivity always adds a feeling of greater value to a product. Multi platform games mostly come with a load of compromises attached that make em less valuable then goods designed specifically for a certain platform.
Sure Square could hack together a cut down version of FF13 for the 360 market that is big outside japan, but how would...

There is a huge difference between multiple Disks as Storage for a PC title compared to an XBox360 title. Every PC has a HDD installed, so even if a game comes out on 3 DVD's you could install the game completely on the HDD. Though for some unknown reason MS decided that it was a good idea to release the 360 with a core SKU that has NO HDD installed, whereas every XBox1 had one ..

That alone makes multi disk Games not en vogue in this days.

Its funny how Sony did...

actually it makes absolutely NO sense, as the price difference between a 80gig drive and a 40gig drive is about $10, and thats with the 40gig drive being MORE expensive, cause 80gig 2.5" drives are the norm, and hence cheaper in gross market prices due to the amount of drives build.

And a $10 price difference in parts does not result in a price difference of $200 for the customer in this reality, maybe in yours, but not in everyone else's.

ever heard of software emulation ? its the way those games run fine on EU PS3s ... *rolleyes* the 80gig SKU is also lacking the EE chips.

As Sony by now manages the backward compatibility by software emulation i fail to see how a SKU without that could exist, smells of bad source and completely misinformed one, too.

this threads never fail to amuse me ...
"my dad is better than your dad, no mine, no mine, my dad will kick your dad's butt, no mine will"

And round and round it goes. Next week Toshiba will announce that they managed a stunning 100% marketshare of all Toshiba HD players, no other company has sold any Toshiba HD players, oh my god. Ok, cutting out some of the competition by defining a "hardware pool" where you might claim victory is quite childish. ...

go and read up about Eye of Judgment please, you play cards from your physical deck and the game uses them. It works as the other card games work, you buy "booster" packs in the shops to get new and interesting henchmen to use.

The PS3 adds the graphical fights and "board" on the screen.

hmm, actually its more like
"mods lead to free content by independent developers, and that leads to Microsoft not being able to nickel and dime you to death for content that everyone else gets for free" And Microsoft always followed a "if you can't charge for it, its not good for xbl" strategy.

Sorry, but the amount of bullsh*t you post in this thread is appalling.

Even a complete idiot sees that this is a clear act of desperation by Toshiba. They loose more and more money on the players and at the same time they kill the 3rd party playermarket, effectively annoying any company that was still following them on the HD-DVD market. And the movie sales show a 3:1 rate for BluRay over HD-DVD, regardless of the recent pricedrops.

The result will be Toshiba ...
