Oh, a made up connection from qj.net about an korean open source handheld device without any games and without industry support. That will make me run and buy this .. erm wait no, ill abstain.
The best part of this tool is the even better battery life than the PSP, a rocking 10 minutes with regular AA cells. and a stunning 4! hours with special lithium ion cells.
Its a miracle, or a lack of reading skills by the people who approved it.
But how about we vote the thing "worst news header EVER".
Flamebait 100%, its sad as the interview is ok imho, even though you should not expect innovation from EA ... at least not before Tiger Woods 2008 / 2009 / 2010 / 2011 / ... / 20xx
Yes, especially cause you then do not need to hold any garage sells, as the burglars can now open your door with a $30 remote without leaving traces. Truly a god send way to secure houses.
Do yourself a favor and simply do not lock your door instead. Same effect, lower cost.
Another day, and another Bob Enderle "HD-DVD has won/ will win/ might win / will probably win / would be better to win cause i say so" blog entry masked as "news" after he made an idiot out of himself with his last "analysis" on why HD-DVD has won - now /- maybe not now but surely tomorrow/- 100% at some time in the future. Heavy backpedaling + entrenching going on at his page in the style of "ok, i said is was a fact, now it was proven wrong and i need to c...
you can still go out of your door anytime and tell the world whatever you deem necessary, even while standing on a soap box.
But what you are allowed to do on a network that is owned and run by a company is regulated in the EULA, and if the EULA tells you NOT to use certain words for names then you better follow by it, else you face being expelled.
How comes "freedom of speech" is only called upon when people want to justify some obscure "right" to be...
are i am the only one who thinks this is good news for Sony ?
As the system is supposed to have a lifespan of 10 years there is no real need for a hardware guru at the top right now, as voiced in the article.
The new Head seems to be more focused on software (aka games) and service. Hence TheMART posted a piece of positive Sony news imho, and thats like xmass and easter on the same day ...
most likely Sony moved from 60gb drives to 80gb drives cause of a better mass market price aka rebate they got for it. 60gb drives are not in production anymore, whats to be sold right now is leftover stock.
So Sony would likely be simply replacing the 60Gb drive with the 80Gb one.
Man what a mystery *rolleyes*
PS: i still think this is a Photoshop fake ;)
"all movie studios have gone neutral"
amazon.com search for hd-dvd + Disney: No results match your search for "hd-dvd disney" in DVD.
yes, Disney gone so neutral that they decided not to bring any hd-dvd to the marked, compared to a quite nice list of bluray titles .. yes, thats pretty neutral .. in your strange dreams, indeed.
"Fox pulled all upcoming Blu-Ray titles" :
sorry to disagree there, in Asia BluRay players and movies are commonly called "BluRay HD DVD" while HD-DVD is stunningly called ... HD-DVD
Same is true for several European countries like e.g. Sweden where BluRay players are sold by the label "BlueRay HD-DVD"
To base an entire marketing drift on a single highly vague chinese text that has been machine translated to english is more than silly. I for my part will patiently await WalMarts press release...
actually ALL the PS3 hardware is virtualized via the hypervisor interface, not just the rsx. The main prob is that the rsx is only usable via the framebuffer interface right now, prolly a driver issue.
Sony won't allow direct access to the hardware for copy protection reasons. Thats the same reason why you can not access the PS3 part of the HDD via linux, its all behind the gatekeeper, out of reach for the general public.
1) the exact drive in that case cost as low as $80 in RETAIL, are you able to imagine the price a system builder will have to pay in case he takes a huge batch of em in one go ? Might it be MUCH lower than the RETAIL price the same drive will have for the normal Joe in a shop ?
So might it, heaven forbid, be possible that Microsoft will get this exact drive for a stunning $50 and less each? ANd just imagine for a second that ANY external case that can easily fit a simple 2.5" driv...
indeed, the included drive retails as low as $80 and thats including retail earning already, so surely a company like Microsoft will get a lower price in gross market. Something like 40 - 50 US$ each for a batch of 1000+ , Thats one heck of a portage and packaging + cables you get there ... $120 ... face it, its a way to milk money out of customers that HAVE to buy that drive, as the only one that will work is the "original" one from Microsoft.
In contrast to the &quo...
use the backup feature included in the system menu and transfer the stuff to an external usb HDD for transmission
indeed, a 2xBluRay drive at always 9mb/s is drastically slower than the 10MB/s average single layer and the 7MB/s average double layer read speed of a DVD Drive of the type used in e.g. the xBox360
I pity the fool who falls for "max speed" stickers on products and can't read the specs of a "12x MAX" drive
"640K ought to be enough for anybody"
"no one could ever need more than 1.4MB for a removable storage device"
"no one will ever need the full 640MB a CD-ROM offers for storage for a game"
"Double Layer DVD's are not needed for console Games"
"BluRay is not needed by game developers"
are you able see a red line going in the quotes ?
Whoever said something as stupid as developers not being happy...
link to the source is not working, and this is "news" ?
a "PM" conversation on the PS Forum ?
Sorry, but added to the nonworking source its just blabla, not news.
imho the only issue that is affected here is the misrepresentation that "shipped" and "sold" units do.
Nintendo is reporting "shipped" units, and cause of the turnaround in the shops you can take that number as "sold" atm cause a Wii is not sitting more than a day in any given shop right now
Sony is reporting "shipped" numbers as in shipped from the factory to the distro channels, and "sold" numbers as i...
yes, that would be the logic, IF Epic had in fact said its not possible for technical reasons, but actually Epic only stated its not possible for Gears to be on PS3 because its distributed by Microsoft exclusively ... and the chances for Microsoft to allow the one extremely GREAT game for the xBox360 to be on the PS3 are below zero.
spot on comment, i only read n4g for the comedy called flamewars. Its somewhat amusing, but it gets old pretty fast. Its actually sad how both camps cry for the Spanish inquisition as soon as a news post comes up that does not fit their hype agenda, and this fits for both the ps3, the wii and the 360 people.
Casino Royal is region free e.g., so no, not all BluRay movies are region coded. A look on the back of the case helps to make sure you can watch it.
PS3 games are all region free atm, but could get region coded. Sony said they don't plan to region code 1st party titles though.
and like someone else said already, most of the tips are in the freaking manual, how comes some wanabe news writer calls em "things Sony won't tell you" eludes my wisdom.
