The Witcher 3 also had a bad framerate when it came out while Rockstar got RDR2 (a next gen looking game) running on the PS4/XB1 with more complex physics and simulations, no problem. Rockstar also got GTA 5 running on the PS3/360 with half a gig of RAM.
This game may be a bit much for last gen consoles but CDPR have been targeting those platforms for years. A developer like R* likely would have been able to optimize it to a playable state at 30fps with some frame drops, no...

I don't think last gen held it back. It runs at 720p most of the time at sub 20fps on the base consoles so it doesn't seem like they let the PS4 or XB1 hold back their vision at all or really cared about those versions. Still, it shouldn't have been released on those systems.

Nah. Killzone 2 and 3 were great games, particularly 2. Both the campaign and the multiplayer were top tier and the gun feedback was amazing. Not many FPS games have campaigns even half as good. Looking back on the tech, the graphics were among the best in a way that wasn't just eye candy - it enhanced the atmosphere with real time lights coming from the Helghast soldier's eyes, muzzle flashes, etc which really stood out on Helghan.

An 83 is still a good score, not too different than the scores they got for inFamous 1 + 2 which are amazing games. There was a long gap between First Light and Ghost but it was about the same as the gap between GOW (2018) and GOW Ascension, down to similar development issues (both studios cancelled a game).
I would rank Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Insomniac and Guerrilla Games above them personally but they're still a really good studio.

You don't have to apologise for liking Rockstar. Ubisoft's open world games are still less alive and convincing than GTA4 12 years later (Legion) which is weird to think about. R* really are masters of their craft.
The only problem is that they make **** all games anymore.
A lot of console guys are leaving reviews on the PC version because it's the version displayed on the main page of Metacritic, so .... it is technically review bombing. But it's understandable. I'm not touching the game until most of the bugs are fixed and the real PS5 version comes out.
I suppose when you like or dislike something you naturally want others to feel the same way, or to find people on the same wavelength as you to validate your opinion. It might be silly sometimes but it's just human nature.
They didn't release it early due to hubris. They released it early to get it out for Christmas.

@RazzerRedux It doesn't have the same issues with framerate and resolution on PC but it's incredibly buggy on every platform. The reviews were of the PC version after all and the main issue highlighted was the bugs.

Same. Not that the concept can't work but Evil Dead's brand of horror is actually quite rare in video-games and a single-player game would probably be way better.
I played the demo for that game when I was quite young before I ended up watching the movies and now it's like a weird dream. haha. I'd actually like to properly play Regeneration.

Let's just celebrate good games, man. I think it's important to call out those guys and their tactics but there are plenty people out there who would pick Doom Eternal, Ghost Of Tshushima, Final Fantasy 7, etc as their GOTY who are just normal people and are not caught up in all that nonsense.
