I actually wouldn't worry about it too much, Foxtrot. There's no point in Sony blowing their load at The Game Awards when they've already announced so many games for the PS5 already. They need to save some games for E3
To be fair, Arkham City came out over 9 years ago and not enough thought was put into that iteration of Deadshot. He was a fairly poor version of the character. Most people prefer the retconned Origins' version who, while played by the same actor, doesn't even have the same voice (it didn't actually make sense back then either but who cares).

Congrats to CD Project Red though. 8 pre-orders alone is a LOT - this game will obviously pass 10 million sales in the first week. Waiting for the next gen version myself though. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long.
Tbh, it kind of sucks that they didn't just add a Quality Mode in the PS4 Pro version with a dynamic resolution and a warning "Performance Mode recommended. Quality Mode is intended for backwards compatible play on PS5" or something like that. I'm definitely waiting for the PS5 version. Hopefully, that gets released by early Spring and we don't have to wait until the Summer or anything.

CD Projekt Red deserve a lot of credit for showcasing this game at settings more representative of what a majority will initially experience it at. They easily could have shown the ray-traced footage in advertising.
Yeah, it's all about what you make relative to your costs and your projections. It didn't need to set the world on fire and top the charts to make a profit and be a success.
I think some people used the flawed perspective you're addressing to justify micro-transactions as well but if we the video-game equivalent of something like BoxOfficeMojo, you wouldn't hear much of that anymore.
It was too CPU-intensive for the base consoles (basically a next gen game in terms of physics) when it came out so I had to pass on it which was a real bummer because it looked right up my alley. The Ultimate Edition was recently on sale for just €20, a very cheap PS5 game for those who never bought the original and the same price as Spiderman Remastered, so I snagged it and I'm really looking forward to it.
They should have at least offered an upgrade path to those who...

Hopefully they update it to use the adaptive triggers in the future. Borderlands 3 did and it's so much more enjoyable.

The similarities and differences between regions are really interesting. In the EU Demon's Souls lost by one spot to AC and in NA it won by one spot. God Of War, The Last Of Us 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Ghost of Tsushima all seem to be doing very well on a continual basis. Long live single-player (well, I suppose it's hard to know if people are mostly buying Red Dead for single-player still)
Kind of happy that I've been too busy to get around to playing this game. Being able to experience both 60fps and ray-tracing at the same time, even with a reduction in resolution and pedestrian density, sounds like a much better way to first experience the game.

Tbh, no disrespect, but that's not a good idea from a business perspective. When you look at the sales of the PS5, the lead that Sony would build over MS would be crazy (at least 15 million).
The PS3 releasing a year after the 360 let the 360 gain a strong foothold and gave MS an early advantage.
Killzone 3 was good as well but the changes made in the multiplayer didn't work quite as well Killzone 2's mp (although the more varied environments were cool)
A 60fps Killzone 2 remaster with ray-traced lighting would be crazy.
Thank God. It's one of the best games ever made - it deserves than what we saw. What I want to know is if this remake feels clunky on the AC engine or if it feels smooth and responsive like the originals. "brand new presentation, controls, and combat" doesn't fill me with confidence.
Even though I personally think TLOU2 deserved it, I think both sides (myself included) should just accept that a lot of people love both TLOU2 and Ghost Of Tshushima and move on with our lives. I'm pretty tired of arguing about it and I'm sure we'll have plenty of new disagreements, Foxtrot. haha.
