From what I saw, it was MS talking this up, not Ubisoft.
I can't believe I let my guard down where MS are concerned. I genuinely got excited and was really anticipating this Xbox event after all the hype and all the talk......and therein lies the point, it was all talk.....again. Nothing I saw from any of those games could be classed as gameplay as far as I am concerned, we still have no clue how any of these games will play or look, really disappointing.

As you say, Sony have far less to prove but I agree, so far Sony have been disappointingly tight lipped.
Its worth noting that Sony are still fully invested in this generation too mind you, with some stellar games coming out in 2020 such as Final Fantasy VII, Nioh 2, Persona 5 Royal, TLOU2, Tsushima and even some smaller stuff like Predator so I wouldn't say Sony are disappointing their fans in respect of games really.

I am just excited for some good news, something to distract from the constant onslaught of bad news after bad news. Hope Xbox really deliver some exciting footage, I have my fingers crossed for Elden Rings gameplay personally.

Agreed Battlestar........sad to see so many people who throw this kind of narrative around, simply to mask their own bigotry. Spot on chief, I see no reason why some people want to take such a polarised position where they can only enjoy the early Uncharted games or Uncharted 4. For me, they are all incredible and it makes me sad that people adopt a negative stance on Uncharted 4, especially when you see how much respect the studio showed to the earlier games in the franchise. I was like a kid at Christmas spotting all the references to the earlier games.
I totally respect you have your preferences squire and even though I adored the original Uncharted games (platinum-ed on them all on PS3 and PS4) and I am ever appreciative of Hennig, gaming mutured with the release of games like The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, they set a new benchmark for telling compelling stories to an audience who themselves are maturing over time.

I get pretty tired of seeing these rediculous arguments rolled out in respect of Naughty Dog under Neil Druckman's stewardship. I honestly don't understand how people can be so threatened by having a game with really well fleshed out characters simply because those characters are female or because of the characters sexual orientation.

It's a really interesting prospect for sure, I do wonder how the cost of implementing this kind of technology compares with the cost of the latest mocap technology.
The wrinkle here though, I suppose you need high quality mocap in the first place in order for the AI to do a good job of applying the deep fake?
Personally, I have perceived there to be a gulf in quantity and quality of exclusive games between Sony and MS this whole generation, and I cannot help but think that if you are in a position where you are producing games to give away on as part of a service, then you will worry a little less about quality. Opposed to this, if the success of the game is based on quality alone, well then it better be good.

There is absolutely zero chance that Ubisoft would keep their biggest franchise off other consoles, even temporarily, especially given the way this entire generation played out with the audience on other platforms being more than double the size. MS can talk all they want about their confidence in the next generation but they did the same with XboxOne X but having a more powerful console has never mattered in the grand scheme of things.

Like anyone had really heard of Sylvia Chambers previously. Of course, she must be extremely talented to have worked at Naughty Dog and to be employed at the Initiative, but to suggest she is a "big name talent" really does smack of hyperbole.
She was only a contract animator at most of her gigs too, this isn't a Miyamoto or Kojima we are talking about, again, not to downplay how talented she must be -
Personally, I want a remaster for PS5 if only so I get a new trophy list, I loved every minute of earning the plat and I'd relish a chance to do it again in glorious 60fps.
