Sony and MS buying up these publishers is so bad for gaming in my opinion. I enjoy exclusives and believe they are important in distinguishing between platforms however, platform holders buying major publishers is really bad for the industry in my view.
I hear people praising these acquisitions purely based on their childish perceptions of their preferred team 'winning'. The reality is, most big budget games need to sell to the whole gaming market to be profitable...
I bought the remaster on PS4 too and played it multiple times over the life of my PS4.
The way I see it, I got my value for money on PS3, I got my moneys worth on PS4 when I bought it almost 10 years ago. I am certain I'll get my moneys worth again from this purchase over the life of my PS5.
Agreed, gives me the perfect excuse to replay the game yet again.....I must have played this game 8 times since the original PS3 release, it is my fave game by a country mile!
I am afraid to say that I tend to find this is the case too. Because I buy games I want on PS5 I pretty much go on Gamepass once a month to quickly check what's been added before going back to PS5 to play the games I have bought.
The first 3 months I had my Series X were amazing as I played through maybe 12 games I was interested in but once I had worked through those ir is kinda slim pickings for the most part.
We will all be shook if MS ever get into a dominant position in the gaming sector.
I reckon the catalogue of PS5 games is now at a point where buying a console is a no brainer. Already plenty of great games to enjoy and you can be assured that Sony will continue to deliver games of the highest quality going forward.
Personally, I think its pretty disingenuous for the publisher to suggest that MTs will only relate to cosmetics when the whole point of the game is the loot which in my opinion, is heavily affected by cosmetics. Stats are vital in my Diablo loot, but I want it too look cool too, a big chunk of the excitement of new loot was to change up the look of my character.
Any confidence I had that the game would be free of MTs has long gone now that the game will end up 'free...
I am not just referring to this game, I just mean in general. In my view, there are far too many very poor titles being released on the stores of Sony, MS and Nintendo. Its difficult enough as it is for good games to get the attention they deserve, curating the stores a little would be good for devs and gamers alike I reckon.
I think all of the major platform holders could do with curating their store content to prevent their customers from being duped by this kind of nonsense.

Firstly, patents have nothing to do with this issue, it might be considered a Trade Mark or Copyright issue if there was an issue. Secondly, it isn't the setting of the game that's an issue, it's the lifting of the character design etc that leads to an inevitable comparison to GoW.
