Its not about taking things too seriously, its about enjoying a piece of work created by sometimes hundreds of supremely talented people.

Just listen to the quite amazing music in Uncharted or Halo. Look at the concept art that is produced for every game and then how that is interpreted and created by amazing artists.

Appreciating something creative is not the same as taking it too seriously.

If you ever get to complete the fantastic God of ...

I personally feel that anything borne from creative efforts deserves to be recognised as art.

The game at hand also doesn't need to have some deeper meaning or be moving or contain a strong story to be considered as art.

There are so many creative decisions with regards to engineering, mechanics, art, sound and a myriad of other factors that I would argue that games merit artistic consideration on many levels.

I have recently completed Th...

Have to say, even if Sony or MS's events were in my city I doubt I would attend.

Queue up for who knows how long sharing the queue with the unwashed masses just to get a peek at something I will own in a few weeks time seems like madness.

AS it happens though, I have to say that I feel Sony's adverts always were really interesting, even before MS were on the scene. They always went for slightly off the wall advertising.

My favourite ...

@ Auric

Scary that someone who claims to be as mature and have such a good education as you do can be so childish and insecure at the same time.

LOL, you might definitely post the funniest comments I've ever seen :)

Have to say I have been using Shopto for many many years and have always had a brilliant service from them. I reckon I must have around 200 completed orders from them by now.

Pre Orders almost always arrive a day before the street date and their loyalty scheme is second to none.

I remember as a joke buddy of mine tweeted that Shopto should give him a free game due to all the business he had sent their way through recommendations to pals. They saw the tweet ...

I am not sad enough to feel the need to spend my time comparing what I will say is the newest gameplay video looked absolutely amazing to me.

If it was nothing more than a Demons Souls clone with those visuals and multi player I would still lap it up personally.

My only reservation is how the F2P model will be set up, I really dislike F2P and would much prefer to pay my £45 and have the full experience - but that's just me.

@Hicken

Spot on squire, more important than any advantage in terms of power or price is the legacy each brand has.

Sony have always delivered amazing content throughout the life of their consoles and have provided countless amazing experiences and memories for hundred's of millions of fans.

MS made a good impression early on in the first few years of the 360 but just look at their track record over the last 3 years or so - very poor!

Cool, thanks for the heads up chief :)

Hope you are right about it being a little more challenging that the gameplay videos look as this is my only real concern.

The rest looks quite good too me, I do love a good 3D platformer so if you can ramp the difficulty up a little I will probably pick this up too.

I loved both games but for me there is absolutely no comparison as far as the story elements are concerned. The Last Of Us gripped me and moved me like no other game I have ever played.

The story in GTA5 was like a comic book at best and I had no emotional attachment to the characters or their stories at all.

GTA5 was great fun and I enjoyed the almost 50 hours I pumped into it but I have already moved on and other than some fun memories of daft shit that ha...

Shopto is a big player I would say. I literally never buy from anywhere else.

For every full price game I purchase I get about £2.30 credit on my account - cannot fault them!

Some tough decisions for me to make but for me it has to be Killzone, Watchdogs and FIFA14.

I love open world games and have been lusting after Watchgods for so long.....have to say though, Assassins Creed looks amazing too so I cannot see it being to long before that gets a preorder too :)

I think age has a lot to do with it too.

I am guessing @thrust, like many others, is a younger guy who hasn't enjoyed Sony's previous consoles and for who the 360 was their first proper console.

The 360 did well in the UK for one reason only, it had over a year's headstart as the only next gen console on the market and MS marketed the shit out of it.

As soon as the Sony console was available and despite its relatively poor launch...

I still have this on Pre Order from 2009 at £35, I hope I still get it for that price :)

One of the first 'hardcore' games I ever played online was Rogue Spear and I absolutely loved it but it was so tough - one bullet and you were down.

A little later and the original Ghost Recon games (on PC) and their expansions were absolutely amazing in my opinion.

Oddly, I never say the Tom Clancy prefix as a badge of quality as there were as many duffers as there were good games. For me it was his books and especially movie tie ins that I though w...

Nothing is more annoying to me that PC elitists, I just don't understand why they feel the need to rubbish consoles.

The fact is, without consoles they would have a lot less to play. Without the console market their would be practically no AAA games being made.

Personally, I love my PC for a blast on BF3 but I only have 2 buddies who play on PC so I much prefer to game on my PS3 where most of my work mates enjoy their gaming.

I enjoyed B...

A quick bit of searching on google and I notice that Forbes seems to hold a different opinion to the armchair global economists here.

Its accepted now that RROD was a billion dollar issue for MS and the failure rate far exceeded any of the other manufacturers.

Its impossible to ignore the fact that replacement 360's would have made a huge contribution to the 360 overall sales.

I have personally replaced mine twice and my sons twice and I know of plenty of others who have replaced theirs too.

I have had to replace my launch PS3 about 3 years ago
