I'm glad I have a science degree. Seriously. Not one of these "experts" knew it was coming or what to do about it. Microsoft may be in trouble, it may not be but I can't believe "the party is over". Let's face it. When all things are considered this article is just more speculation.
Ray tracing's an algorithm. It doesn't give you a photo-realistic image. It takes some texturing to get that but it does provide a fair better image quality.
It's not really anything new.
It allows for much smaller file sizes but's a resource heavy ****er though. The PS3 munches this kind of thing with its Cell while the RSX can provide the texturing needed.
This has already been benchmarked. Go check it out.
The problem is that a benchmark test is far from...
I hope this great blog...err...article can bring out the intellectual heavy-weights. Come on boyz and maybe girl. Show us your brilliance by arguing on the interwebz with strangers. That way you can feel better about something you have no control over.
Does this mean PS3 fans can play sales now? :P
Sorry. :D
"Developers change their games mid-stream or later all the time. What would have happened if Halo:Combat evolved was developed as a Real Time Strategy for PC, instead of the console FPS that we know today?"
Halo Wars? :P
Sorry. I had to do it.
It's done now.
The game should be judged on it's merits when released. They've had a long time to work on it. I'm sure they feel the responsibility that comes with the games release.
If it's bad, fans'll have their pitchforks out for Remedy. They're smart enough to know that.
The 360 is cropped top and bottom. Every time I see one of these "articles" I find a flaw in their method that people just choose to ignore.
Now I for one am not saying that the PS3 has the best multi-plats every time as I've played many games on both and to start with the 360 was head and shoulders over the PS3. Now however they're so damn close you need magnification to spot a difference.
To claim I'm taking this stand point because of console affiliation is stupid. ...
I'm such a child?
Tempjf how do you know what systems I have?
You've just made an accusation based on nothing more than your own hurt feelings.
Such an outburst is called a tantrum.
Seem pretty childish to me.
To "Bends the Truth."
My god this site likes to stir up trouble.
Being a game tester would be awesome.
but the PS3 already supports the 400Gb BD. It's due for release in 2010. That's 16 layers worth and a 1 TB disk (40 layer) is scheduled for 2012-2013.
If it's a fact sheet then where are the facts?
This is just a piece based on pure speculation and here-say.
We know play-mag.co.uk don't know sh!t about it. That's what!
I already knew that. People post blogs posed as questions so they can make absurd claims. If you were to make these claims as statements then your credibility is shot from that point on. If you make claims based as questions then you can invent all the information you want.
The number of "questions" you see as articles here on N4G really are a testament to how pathetic gaming journalism has become.
That's low.
I think they should be sentenced to taking the Wii home and being force to play it. No 1st party games permitted. In a few short weeks they'd see the error of their ways.
A magical patent system? That'd be great!
Do you mean archaic? If so, that's less impressive.
I love the way people select the bits of information they think validate their point of view. The 360 out sold the PS3 so the 360 is the bestest! Following that logic the Wii out sold the 360 so the Wii is awesome. Why are you wasting your time on the 360 when the Wii is clearly the choice of the masses?
This line of thinking makes no sense. Not to worry. Making sense when posting on the interwebz isn't mandatory so most of you can relax and keep posting your mindless rubbish.

Another wild, baseless claim hidden behind a question mark. I find it funny that any article with a headline based as a question gets approved on N4G.
Look, the only reason you'd pose this as a question instead of a statement is to cover your ass. That way you can make any crazy article you want and be absolved of any wrong doing.
This "article" shows that not only do "Industry Gamers" write poorly thought out "articles", but that th...
All I can get from the body of this "article" is that some on the NextGN team are given to wild speculation.
Looking at the comment section for this "article" on N4G I see a lot of you doing the same thing.
As far as I can tell, Natal is aimed squarely at the casual market.
Natal will never replace a controller completely.
Casual gamers are easily impressed. Market it a lot to as many people as possible. Keep it simple and they'll eat it up.

The truth according to who?
Blu-Ray isn't just Sony. It's most of the big manufacturers that have a share in the tech. Zune Video has...Microsoft.
That doesn't mean Zune Video is doomed. It's just something to think about.
