welcome to the land of the free.
I haven't posted on N4G for a while.
I've been watching it go to hell instead.
Can any of you answer a question for me?
How is it that when TR was interviewed about the "infernal" engine three months ago none of you "experts" posting over the last few days had anything to say?

If any of you had actually checked out what was goin...
I thought small or rapid movements with a Wii-mote would be really imprecise. Like trying to putt a short ball in Wii Sports golf or box with any speed in Wii Sports boxing.
The accelerometers aren't the best quality in the Wii-mote. The WM+ should give a little more control in future. It'll still be far from perfect though.
Sony doesn't blow my mind with their controller either. It's going to have problems with being limited aswell.
At the end of the day, I just hope mo...
It's still going to be riddled with faults but if darker skin is a problem it can be fixed with software. It'll start to cause problems for the CPU and RAM if there's too much software involved just to make Natal function though.
What happens when you want to play a game and the interface is chewing up your resources.
Microsoft can pull this off if they have a great plan and a rock solid interface. The thing is, at this point M$ have an idea of where they'd like to go wi...
Where are the other 90% looking?
Quality Ubisoft games are rare this gen. Go check your collections. Wii owners in particular will agree that the direction Ubi's games have been going this gen is not a good one.
If they were to shift some focus onto getting a truly awesome game released this gen I'd be more impressed.
(Some of you may say AC 2 will be that game. After the first one I'm going to take a wait and see approach.)
N4G? Am I seeing this right?
Nice piece.
A little light in places but still well thought out.
I'd love to get into what's wrong with the show this week, but my brain is still recoiling from the onslaught of wild speculation that HHG has become synonymous for.
*shakes head*
How did this get here?
He's no engineer.
He does have some novel ideas though.
Sadly pirates aren't going anywhere. It's a shame they cost dev's and pub's so much but I don't think that factors into their thinking.
Ego is what pirates thrive on. They did it. They beat the securities built into the system and got what they wanted. All it took was time and skill. Then they (the pirates) distribute their stolen booty among the masses and satiate their egos for "stickin' it to the man".

This could be the result of having to chop it down for the 360 version. To make the game the same, they (SE), may have to change the PS3 version if it were close to complete.
This is just a thought and may not be the actual reason but it wouldn't surprise me.
As for your comment: "You cannot give a a single concrete example where the PS3's unique hardware latency is beneficial in any single way."
http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
For those of you that can't be bothered looking, it's a Ray Tracing and Procedural Texturing benchmark that was done to test the PS3, 360 and 8800GTS.
How'd it end up there Bob...
The Xenon in the 360 is rated at 115 GFlops (projected).
The Cell is rated at over 200 GFlops (tested). Even if 2 SPU's can't be used by a game the difference is still massive. Add to that the fact that Xenon is capped by a bottleneck and your statement makes no sense.
Why would you come in here spouting that everyone's a fool and you're the keeper of knowledge just to make yourself look stupid.
Look, let me put it to you like this (very simply).

Another quality product.
How did this crap get in here?
*Eyes go wide*
Is this the next HHG like, crap based site to attack N4G?
To your battle stations everyone!
The way I see it, no middleware engine will use the PS3's potential as well as a dedicated engine. Same goes for the 360. It's called middleware for a reason.
Now all M$ need to do is pluck their head out of their ass and get to work on a great in-house engine. Sony's built quite a few.
At the end of the day though, the best we can hope for as gamers is that the CE3 is used to make good games.
The fact it's fake, lame and now has a comment section riddled with comments defending someone who just made the review up doesn't mean it has to come down.
I for one think it should be on show for all to see. It shows the contempt CGreview as a site has for gamers. It shows people defending this review for their own ends (regardless of what they are). Lastly it shows that the people claiming that some review scores aren't on the level are in fact right.
CGreview...
Another story dealing with this.
Well I'll just get the popcorn and wait for the fight to begin.
Now, say it with me. "It's not fair!" vs "Why is it different when Sony does it?"
Sorry. I guess I just took all the fun out of it.
"VGChartz is usually talked down upon when talking about the inaccurate sales charts, but speaking about Lit numbers in a recent IGN podcast, Matt Casamassina stated otherwise:
“What I’ve been told by most developers of Wiiware, if you go to VGChartz, and look at the numbers they have, they are pretty close to the real thing.”
In comparison to NPD data, they are usually off. Wiiware and Virtual Console numbers are probably much easier to track since they are...

It'd be nice if FFXIII ran at a native 1080p all the time. It really would.
I have to say though that I care more about the gameplay being good.
A great story would also be more important to me than a leap in res from 720p to 1080p. Am I alone in this way of thinking?
Square-Enix has been pumping out some real crap this gen. I just hope FFXIII isn't more of the same.
an LED is a Light Emitting Diode. When a charge is passed through the Diode it emits light. Hence the name (LED's are excellent energy savers). Hertz are the speed of a recurring cycle over the period of a second, ie: if it was footsteps 2hz would be two footsteps a second.
You were good enough to be honest so I hope I've helped. Now if only other members of this site were to be so honest...well I think I've said enough about that for right now.
