That would only help if they captured the video uncompressed, and you played it back on a 4K screen. That's why I think a lot of these demos are going to be pointless unless you see it in person. Like VR.

I don't think Sony has anything to worry about for a year. Starting with the price drop this month, VR next month, PS4 Pro the month after (which is still a mistake IMO), they're clear sailing until we find out whatever the hell Microsoft's strategy for Scorpio is.
It makes sense for new customers, but early adopters who have the PS4 or day one Xbox One get screwed. I wish they'd just waited a year and put out a whole new generation.
Not much of a showcase in a compressed stream from Youtube that tops out at 1080p.

@Death: Its only a disadvantage if you consider digital versus physical media a disadvantage. You can't lend or trade in your copy of the game if you purchase a "play anywhere" title, much like the original Xbox One DRM strategy in fact. It incentivizes us to move to PC play, which Microsoft seems to be wanting to push us towards anyhow.

I'm absolutely not surprised. Konami owns the IP and why wouldn't they try to capitalize on that as quickly as possible.
However, I am disappointed. They could at least have tried to make a Metal Gear game instead of Left 4 Resident Evil Rising, or whatever the hell that was.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the game will be great, but if you were trying to advertise a game, you might want to show an interesting part of the game. Some random combat and a set piece or something; a section a bit more dynamic than switch flipping and enemies that you don't actually see.
Screw em. I've gotten about 500 hours out of the $20 I invested in Ark, and they've been adding new stuff all the time, even without looking at all the mods that are available out there in the community. There's a huge chunk of content in the add-on that makes things even better, so I say support them or don't. Its a hell of a lot of fun on its own, but I think the add-on is more than worth doubling down on my investment.

It looked good and all, but could they have picked a more underwhelming sequence of the game to demonstrate? It didn't exactly push the envelope.
They talked about improvements to graphics and framerate at 1080p with the PS4 Pro.
They also talked about NATIVE 4K graphics.

Why talk to an analyst when he has no data to analyze. Without even specs, release strategy, or even a release date, how could someone even speculate on something as specific as an attach rate?
@hulk_bash1987: Sony is rolling out the PS4 4.0 firmware today, bringing with it a ton of new and long requested features. Additional maintenance in support of giving the user what they want should be understandable. People complain when there's maintenance, but they complain more when something goes wrong especially where firmware is concerned. Pick your poison, but if you don't want maintenance, then don't complain when things go wrong.
Again, you don't spend millions and millions of dollars on R&D to make 5,000 units worldwide.
Don't even talk to me about Kinect. I should have waited for the unbundled version of the one and saved myself some money.
@donthate: You don't invest millions and millions of dollars in an device that you're not confident in, however they obviously underestimated the demand at launch. Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Gamestop sold out across their chain in minutes, and you can bet that they didn't get a small number of units.
