As we enter the digital era where there is less that people can buy and display, these collections are going to be worth a lot i think.
people like to see things accumulate physically
cheapskates who buy used to save $3-5 carry some blame too.
they already have a console in the market at $400.
Unless they want another $599 launch, i dont see the logic either. I have long given up trying to teach gamers economics, some of them think the industry is based solely on specs.

And i thought i was a freak :)
This is seriously a good move. A lot of those games actually suit the portable platform.
tablets have proven that users will carry around a separate device if the quality of the experience is worthwhile.
some dont like reading on a small screen. Some dont like games without proper controls
Plus, people like buying gadgets.
That age (37) is given by the ESA.
If you read their reports, they give very little information about their data gathering process.
Without this info, you really cannot take that figure seriously
i love the look + feel of it
I hear "zilch" is much better
dualshock on a handheld will use too much power i thing.
I dont want to have to walk around with a car battery
If they want one account and one PS3, then fine.
But at $60? No. Not now,not ever. There are too many gaming options for something like this.
The pass should at least work on 3-5 systems, like most PSN games.
If sony want to guarantee 1st/2nd party sales, they may need to look at the release calendar a bit more closely. Its getting pretty crowded. hopefully, they dont start to cull 3rd party games
@Cresent Fang - those are the only ones that i can think of that are worth mentioning. You could look at Evolution 1+2.
There is this game called Toy Commander that i would really encourage you to check out. The controls are a mess, but the level design is great.
@Rambo - Due to the EA situation, they had to spend resources developing their own sport games - leading to the 2K sports lineup. They could have spent those resources elsewhere.
Remember, Sega was no...
we would be looking forward to hologram VMUs
The initial ps3s were sold at a significant loss. THe high price tag had a lot to do with bluray and the fact that MS forced them to market earlier than they expected. Not because they felt like it.
That whole arrogance thing was just part of their marketing / price justification
The lack of support from EA was a crucial factor that nobody seems to ever bring up. THis is one of the few times that i have seen it mentioned.
It also lacked jrpgs, and there was the peak of the pokemon phase
Contrary to what is mentioned in the article, there were hardware problems..it was not that durably made
hold on...what if i create an account and sell the game with the account access.
Solution?
No trophies, but i dont care bout that
They could give 3-5 passes, similar to how you can put games on PSN on multiple consoles.
At least its not capcom Resident evil bad. that shit is scary
That may have actually been a better name than vita
yeah, sony isn't a big player in PC anyways, which is where the initial revenue from this will come form. They will create their own service.
THis could solve piracy and used sales in one go, so i'm sure they are working on it in some form
I think having a main feature (3D) that you cannot easily advertise is also a big problem.
Also, not everyone likes the handheld 3D experience. I cant help but think that there was some lax product testing with this thing
