how expensive can gaming get and still be viable? I don't want another gen of FPSs because they think they can't afford to take a chance

What really got me sad was when people began to ruin the endings of games for each other. That was just pathetic.
The ability to hide behind an internet connection brings out the worst in people at times....can be entertaining though.
One of the things that makes N4G different is that the content is user generated, hence the "space" is essentially up for grabs. Its like fighting over food or any other available resource.
I also agree with aceofstaves. Age brings far more important problems than game console preference.

With the NGP heading to market with the ability to bring a true FPS experience to handhelds (2 amalog sticks), things are set to become very interesting.
I agree that those are also very important factors...but seriously, did u really expect namco to put tales on xbox exclusively?
Also, i am talking about recent quality of games, MGS 1-3 was last gen. You have to admit that sony 1st party has led that charge on the platform this gen

Good points (blaze), but i never expected the cross platform games to be the full BR releases. I was expecting the sub $20 psn stuff to be cross platform.
I dont see how most PS3 games can perform well over a 3g connection anyways - but i hope i'm wrong.
Edit - also, having a game playable on both consoles with one save file is very different situation from an isolated port which you speak of.

I hope not - but you already have the ability to put most psn purchases on up to 5 consoles. I was expecting this to include ngp

I think the plan is to have releases that can be played on both...at home on ps3 and on the move with ngp.
So you won't have to wait
$279 is a bit low for NGP considering what you get from nintendo for $250.
Everyone seems to expect the old lose $$ on hardware approach from sony, but this may not be feasible given what has happened on the psp

we all value things differently, i thought the WII was a waste of money, but my friends with kids did not
its also nice to see those devs who took a chance on the ps3 make some money
