I would take proper gamer ratings over industry raings anyday.
Sad just bloody sad from both sides. I used to like reading metecritic for it's mix of industry and user reviews now I'm stuck with just the industry reviews because of idiots. Metacritic need some sort of sign in process before you can review, the sytem now with just fill any bull name and email address is not helping in this situation.
I sold my Wii within 3 months of owning one the majority of games released were just dire (not the Wii's fault I hasten to add). For me Nintendos quality control on 3rd party games just hit rock bottom. There were some good ones Zack and Wiki stand out from the ones I played.
Unfortunately sales have never equalled quality look at titles like Psychnauts, Beyond Good and Evil plus lots more, all over looked despite some seriosly good reviews from the press/sites.
Now if they do a multi lingual/subbed release I'll get this on import like I did lost odyssey on the 360.
In the pic you provided I noticed that Marcus has a disc on his forearm that resemble the 360's light ring. I wonder when he is low on health whether it RROD's.
Actually playing gears 2 now and liking the improvements over the first.
Not much of a spoiler at all could be any character doing what was described in a cut scene, hell it might even be just a grunt from the enemy faction.
Only time will tell how future proof something is, although there is no denying that Sony made some excellent albeit rather expensive design choices with the PS3.

RROD's shoved under the rug by the media? Are you sure about that? As far as I remember nearly every article about the 360 a couple of years back was RROD related (quite rightly so, I am on 360 No 4). The media love this stuff no matter which console gets the attention, it generates traffic for websites and sells papers/magazines.
I seriously cannot remember flame wars like there are now when the nes/master system, snes/megadrive were released. That does not mean I am saying it never went on I was just never aware of it.
I have said this countless times in countless forums lately and my opinion is Sony need to drop that price, especially in the current economic climate. Regardless of the hardware and amount of features packed in the machine out of the box, people will always look at the initial outlay at this time.
Only time will tell which console wil be second to the behemoth of hardware sales the Wii. As long as they are all around for the next gen I'll be happy.
One of my most anticipated titles of 2009 for the PS3. Loved the first, played through it about 4 times in total. Also cannot wait to see how they have improved the animations etc with ND saying they are going to use as much of the PS3's power as possible.

As for Games Of The Year I would only trust one voted by the public not any mag/website.
Exactly I have both and the amount of exlcusives coming hopefully next year (I'm looking at you MR Wake) for both systems is fantastic yet wallet destroying.
I love being a JRPG fan some good titles been released and a few more coming this year. I will be picking this one up along with a few others announced for 360/PS3.
I hope that doesn't happen in Resistance 2 I aint played it yet.
