I so far have prefered my 360 over the PS3(in terms of games I like to play, a self confessed JRPG fanboy) yet the Halo series leaves me cold, what category do I come under?

Sales matter to the manufacturer alright, I agree with the fact that sales do not equal quality of product. Although sales do not affect my opinion of a particular console it's the games that do that. As long as they sell enough consoles to keep producing more consoles/games then it's all good.
Although some of us are old enough to remmeber that the first games we played were the grandstand pong systems in the 70's, now I feel old.
I agree with you but then I have never been a Halo fan, I personally think Halo 3 was originally xbox 1 bound or rushed.
As previosly posted Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Q3(especially this one for me this took me from consoles to PC gaming and took 4 years of my life near enough) all preceded and in my opinion better games than Halo.
Halo has been very succesful there is no denying that but revolutionary, not in my book.

Real or fake it matters not of course MSoft and Sony are in competition with each other. Bit of a no brainer really.
Yep just enjoy the system/s of your choice and play the games, christ how much gaming do these zealots get done anyway? They spend most of their time whining when playing could be done.
Both sides are just as bad as each other and yes one side outnumbers another side on different sites.
The reasons these articles get approved on this and many another site is revenue, those ads must amount to something with all the hits these headlines attract.
