Vr is not CPU intensive. It's GPU intensive and the reason is that you need at least 60fps PER EYE, essentially 120fps, though you can make 90fps work with some ticks. That's your min. And it needs to be BASICALLY locked there. It's all GPU.
On PC you can play VR games on a decade old CPU if you put a nice graphics card in your box.
Or prime example the ps4 which has a 6 + year old mid range laptop CPU but.. does VR.
I think approaching 30 mil in the US is pretty good after 5 years if you take into account that it doesn't have a new movie format pushing it and that it was released as we were coming out of a depression and along side competition. Comparing it to say PS2, where that machine released during a better economy , directly after a generation Sony utterly dominated and featuring a DVD DRIVE (many did buy it for that feature) it is going pretty well to have sold half... And it's still go...
For all the hate the platform gets... I will say that while it does not exactly win out in western titles or have a huge variety, it does have a good volume of good RPGs and japanese games. It got Ys 8 which is something. It actually has a lot of games in general.
The third thing which you can argue all you want, but its about perception of increments. How to put it... You say there isn't as big a jump from PS3 to PS4- and this has to be what youre referencing when you mention diminishing returns because its the most recent generational example. But lets really examine it and lets do it in a fair way.

So here is the issue with that, and Im not saying youre wrong or arguing with the key point - where even if you look at PC gaming in the last 5 years the biggest changes have been that we are aiming for higher resolutions.
The reason you see less and less difference in the actual core game elements lately is because we are moving to a place in console gaming where FPS and base resolution are the becoming more and more apparent to users because of the displays we use now. ...

I am not sure youve USED those VR headsets. . . Vive has better tracking and Oculus in my experience depending on your setup is similar. The VIVE is better at tracking because it uses towers you place around the room and I can see why sony would not want to do that.... The actual display quality - of the HEADSET is great. Sony's is the most comfortable by far, the field of view is good and the screen door effect is VERY LOW. Now the Vive pro is out and it blows other stuff away but y...

That is AMAZING. .. to see even VR fans constantly RE-WON-OVER by new games means that the format is growing and improving every quarter.
So the question is when does it overtake PS3?
The System has a lot of support and games on the horizon plus it hasnt hit its lowest pricepoints yet. Once youre able to walk into a store and buy a bundle for like 150 or even 129 expect 10-20 mil more sales in a couple years after that, above whatever its already hit by then, over the holiday seasons etc as non-gamers buy them for the existing library and as gifts.
Youre certainly right. I am positive that the 360 numbers were "Shipped" numbers and those included not only re-buys but REPLACEMENT systems. Not that it doesnt happen to any console but I think are able to safely say the 360 failed more often than any console historically beating out the early PS1 laser issues by a good margin...
It's a pretty game and I'm sure it's very possible it also gets a ps5 release but what I've seen of it so far would be perfectly in line for the end of this gen.

They are the actual main combatant and lost the most people during that war. I actually have russian relatives and can speak the language somewhat. WW2 for Russia is the great patriotic war. They take it very seriously. Women and teens gave up school and their lives to sacrifice for that war... families were torn apart and a large number of those executed were russian jews. The war was so much fought on that ...

PSV is underrated as a portable RPG monster. Absolute blast and the screen still looks good today, with its OLED(I know later slim models axed it ).great system weak in western 3rd party support . Still it got a tooooon of games considering it's sales . Notre than Dreamcast for instance and people including myself talk about DC like some kind of second coming .
