Its almost funny to mention. Its kind of like when you achieve full ray tracing in a game like Quake 2- Its done just to say you did it, to show off one thing. Like in this case resolution. the N64 was like 100mhz so....Come on. Maybe they'll port Jumping Flash and run it at 4k next!
Given the timing of release and the fact that its episodic... Expect a patch to run on PS5 and soon after when the exclusivity is over, Series X, soon after.... And it'll run the way they probably really envisioned it.

Well even then the actual internal resolution wasnt scaled up, it was just "converted" to progressive scan, but the ps1 games on PS3 werent changed outside VERY basic smoothing.
But yeah .... I hope people dont forget the "roots" and what games were really like, if for no reason
than just to appreciate what we've got now. Its a good experience to play some of those old systems on a CRT for at least a while and "Get used" to it, ...
This is the funny thing I just want to point out- They say 1997 in the thumbnail. That is NOT how FF7 looked in 1997. . . that is some port or something from later. PSX graphics arent all perfect and smooth and with zero aliasing LOL

We're a few years away from emulating a PS4 - but it will be good once it works because a PS4 isnt too far off from a PC. But honestly by the time you can emulate a PS4 well a PS4 is going to be a 50 dollar buy with a controller on the used market no doubt. Why bother ? Well eventually it'll make more sense , years down the road like say 20 when people just want to play something for nostalgia sake it may actually be easier to emulate some of these old consoles than get a 25 year ...

Come on , relax, this 2 decade old game isn't anyone's highest priority . It would be just as easy to get any ps1, ps2 or ps3 and the disk and play the game , anyone who hasn't by now is playing it on PC for convenience. It'll be fixed next patch probbaly within a day or two. No need to be dramatic .
Microsoft abandoned adding backward compatibility for Xbox at like 40 games leaving out tons of games like jet grind radio. 360 they did better but stopped adding games as far as I know. The new Xbox is more of a hardware for hardware thing with only settings and such being the issue maybe depends on how it was programmed but the new machines should be able to play the whole library of each console unless there is something else missing in the system like if the new Xbox doesn't suppo...
I wish they could get this done, it had potential but it must have been pretty bad to abandon it or Microsoft had something else in mind though it added to a string of disappointments... vaporware of a highly touted exclusive on a platform lacking exclusives is a really sad thing.

LOL what? No not always. Sometimes they can tell if its open VS closed loop. VGA is something else and if something is HDCP certified is yet another question. But many RECEIVERS and other things can sort of scale video. Why would anyone care? it doesn't actually change the video hell it probably adds input lag.
