Sony has literally never had a problem with that. In gaming the big slow-downs have been Nintendo not caring if their hardware is actually performant, and Microsoft dumping their old consoles like a ton of bricks. The first xbox had like a 4 year lifecycle and was dumped in 2005 for the 360, the 360 slowed down to almost no releases while the PS3 was still pumping out stuff like Uncharted 3 and the last of us, and XBOX one kind of slowed down (I know its still getting some stuff released ...
same, I got my friend one in June and myself one in early July just by being a gamestop pro member and buying a bundle it keeps the boys and scalpers away long enough for normal people to buy them The only sad thing is that I own destruction all-stars now which is a game I normally would never buy but... whacha gonna do?

Bethesda released games on the original playstation, Atari Jaguar, etc. So it was not because of the XBOX....
Its wide spread but not everyone has it. I doubt all these people are savaging their joycons, I think its just a slightly cheaper built than it should be, design. I would blame the users if it was a rare thing but its very common even if its not everyone.
It's basically obvious to anyone over 30 how we stepped down a lot to go to lcd. It was done for cost per screen size weight and overall size. Not image quality. We are just now beginning to get back to CRT level image quality in displays . It's good they are still going back to test and show this but it is well known to many

Its not the first that is above standard capacity. It's just giant, but there were dozens of "high capacity " cards with double, quadruple, even 16x and possibly higher than the factory memory card back in the 90s. And early 2000s. Guess it depends what you call high capacity. I would consider many times normal as high.
They may be limited in which games will work or how easily a game can be made to work. Microsoft kind of promised original Xbox games last generation but we ended up with 40 out of 1000 games working, it had to be some limitation of the emulation.

The reason switch is killing it so hard is that its Nintendos only handheld and a good portion of switch sales are switch lite..... look at 3ds sales a few years ago and understand why its like this. It is filling a cheap console market and it sitting totally uncontested in the mobile market , competing only with phones which in spite of its maxwell cores it has no issue with because mobile games must run on common phones, not just flagship phones .... the switch visuals will keep up fo...
So still a bit better on PS5... seems like PS5 got the benefits too but the Series X is still a bit behind it. Still great to see the experience become smoother on the Xbox side . Maybe more patches later will bring it to full parity.
