Nintendo will be ok. At WORST ... Wii U will be a Gamecube all over again. The console won't sell much but their own games will still sell 2-7 million each.
The Wii U will still be highly profitable due to Nintendo's 1st and 2nd party game software sales ... just far less than then the original Wii of course.
I would be fine with Zelda but I already know it is coming so I don't need to see it now. I would rather see something like Metroid Prime 4 because not only would it be a reveal but also a confirmation of yet another potential AAA title for Wii U. We all know Zelda is going coming and it will be great ... no need to see it so far ahead of time.
I hope its Metroid ... please be Metroid ...

True Wii U did have better exclusives at launch but it also lacked a lot of Third party games or the third party games they had lacked features, DLC, online, or cost too much (Mass Effect 3 full price while other consoles got the Masst Effect TRILOGY for the same price).
That's the main problem with Nintendo consoles ... the third party games are either missing, come out late, are inferior versions, the fans don't buy them, third parties don't advertise the Wii U ...

Huge Nintndo fan but I agree. You need a Wii U n one more system. That way you have all the great Nintendo published games AND basically every third party game.

@ Chrischi1988 .. well I did say in another post that Wii U's best chance is to reach out and regain those casuals and that casuals make up the majority of sales but Wii U's price is still a bit high to reach casual appeal and the novelty of motion controls is dying while the gamepad's difference maker message hasn't been delivered successfully by Nintendo. I do think PS4 will win this gen with ease ... and I am a huge Nintendo fan.
Until someone clearly tops the core gameplay of Call of Duty ... can you blame them for keeping the core gameplay the same? It's that core gameplay that keeps people hooked.
and there is nothing wrong with that ... entertainment is all that matters. Give me Man of Steel, Avengers, Gravity, Bad Grandpa ... not every movie has to be a drama.

Skyward Sword has a great story, fantastic characters, very interesting new main villain and great cinematics ... it just needed voice acting.
Game looks incredible ... both refreshing and classic at the same time ... can't wait. Zelda is one of the greatest franchises in the history of gaming for good reason.
3DS' main completition ... Vita/PSP ... Wii U's main competition ... 360/PS3/XB1/PS4 ... big difference.
Nabbic is correct. Nintendo needs to either recapture the casual market who outnumber the core or get the same type of third party support as the other two. Nintendo is just one publisher. I don't think Microsoft or Nintendo have a chance at beating the PS4 this gen. PS4 should dominate both but the stuff this article points out should be good reasons for Wii U to at least start doing good business.
